Barely There Liners: a Novella
Have you ever been driving yourself nuts trying to find the best possible piece of whatever protective material to slap onto your undies, only to be further confused by seriously conflicting reviews? Well, I have, and on top of years of trial and error, I have many thoughts. Iâve used these liners for a long time and theyâre the ones that have worked best for me. If you like thorough reviews and donât mind reading long ones, here are my thoughts:Main point is, for what they are, they work very well! The first thing to note is that these are exactly what they are advertised as: barely there. Thatâs the selling point. They are the thinnest and probably smallest youâll be able to find. Of course, thatâs not the right fit for everyone, but that doesnât render the product useless. With regard to size / coverage, these will work best with undies that have a bit of a narrow crotch area / gusset. For me, thatâs exactly what I needed. Most of my undies do not have a wide enough crotch to accommodate larger liners, let alone pads. They are also short, which can be a good or bad thing, depending on the style of underwear. There is a slight curvature, so theyâre a bit wider up front and in back which helps a bit for proper placement. Iâm pretty sure there is a thong version, but these can be used with thongs by just tucking the adhesive in the back around like wings. They tend to stick better to cotton than synthetic materials, in my experience. I think thatâs probably true of almost any pad or liner, though. If your priority is max absorbency, this is not the product for you. Yes, everyone here stating that the absorbency isnât amazing and the center panel is small are correct. But, for better or worse, thatâs the design. Theyâre supposed be as unobtrusive as possible while offering just enough protection for LIGHT purposes. With that in mind, I have found that (for spotting or cup / tampon backup, which are my uses for this product), Iâve very rarely had issues with leakage. To be fair, I donât typically bleed heavily. I also canât speak for those who use these for bladder leakage or daily discharge. For my purposes, the center panel does its job of pulling fluid from the surface to keep you dry. Even the outer portion which seems to just be adhesive offers a bit of protection for your undies. Itâs not going to really absorb, but it can keep light leaks from seeping through for a bit until you can change your liner. I do deal with clots sometimes, and they donât absorb fully, but I donât think any external product can.As for the packaging issue a lot of folks seem to be having, if Iâm getting this right, theyâre not peeling the adhesive backing off. Theyâre just pulling the whole liner out of the wrapper without peeling it off of the backing. That white piece of wax paper type of stuff needs to be taken off. Yknow, so the adhesive is exposed.Speaking of adhesive! Edge-to-edge, which is what I think confuses people when they try to open them. But itâs also what makes these fantastic. I canât stand when thereâs not enough adhesive and everything bunches up or peels away, slips out of place, you know the deal. The combo of these being so thin and flexible + the edge-to-edge adhesive is what makes them feel âbarely thereâ. If theyâre the right fit for you & your undies, once applied, itâs like theyâre basically built into your underwear.(Tip: press the liner and fabric together all the way around to make sure itâs fully adhered. Just do so carefully, as the adhesive edges can wrinkle if theyâre not smoothed out while youâre applying.)Theyâre pretty soft, but not the softest ever. Thatâs okay with me. Itâs because theyâre so thin and only have that center strip of what would be âcottonyâ. Itâs not scratchy or uncomfortable. Thereâs no plasticky mesh sitting on top. I will admit they can sometimes feel a bit stiff, but because they move with you and donât slip, itâs not too bothersome.I have sensitive skin, but have not ever had a reaction to these. I canât guarantee that for anyone else, though, of course. It sucks that we have all these mystery substances to worry about. I do believe these companies should be held to higher standards, but as things are, Iâd just say be aware that itâs a risk with pretty much any pad or liner, and stop usage immediately if you notice irritation.Overall, Iâd say these are for you if youâd like something small, discreet, and comfortable to wear, but only if you donât require heavy-duty protection. Itâs all about what makes YOU feel protected and comfortable. And whatâs compatible with the size and shape of your preferred underwear. I know it can be frustrating to find that, but maybe thereâs somebody out there who can be helped along in that process with this ridiculously long review. There are so many options out there. I feel itâs important to discuss them, even if some feel itâs TMI, because when we do, we can help each other find what works, without simply depending on product labels.

Love It!
Iâve been using Kotex Balance Daily Panty Liners, and theyâre great! They feel really soft and comfortable, and I hardly notice them throughout the day. The quality is excellentâthin but absorbent enough for everyday use. They stay in place without bunching up, making them perfect for daily comfort. Highly recommend for a reliable, discreet option!

Effective Liners with High Absorption!
These panty liners offer excellent coverage and superior absorption. They are also versatile enough to be used with thong underwear when a dedicated thong liner isnât available. To use, simply position the liner on the thong and fold the edges over gently. I purchase these in bulk regularly, and a single pack typically lasts me nearly three months.

These are unscented which is awesome (I really don’t need down there to smell like …
I’ve used pantyliner for years, and from what I remember, I’ve been using specifically Kotex brand pantyliners before they got rebranded to the U by Kotex name. Since the rebranding though, whereas in the past I may stray and just buy whatever’s cheap and available, now I exclusively go by these. These are unscented which is awesome (I really don’t need down there to smell like heavy florals…seriously). They are also very thin, sticks well, and feels insanely comfortable. I usually can’t tell they’re there.Maybe I use these differently than others, but some of the reviews sound like they’re expecting for something that these are not made to do? These actually work pretty well even for light spotting – but that’s LIGHT spotting. it’s really not for when you’re on your period or even at the end when you may get a lot of discharge still. A few times I switched back to these too soon – they actually still kept my undies clean and I’ve never had any discharge or spotting seep through to my underwear.they also stick well, but not overly sticky and difficult to pull off. They also do not bunch up, which I highly appreciate as I’ve used pantyliners in the past that have no stick on the edges, and not even an hour later is so bunched up that it’s protecting nothing. these have an even thin coat of stickiness along the entire bottom (with exception to a sliver of the edge) so definitely works much better. HOWEVER they are not heavy duty adhesive, and I noticed that they do not stick well to some material. Certain panties from VS that are made with knit material, or super stretchy shiny/slippery polyester, these do not stick to. I don’t particularly mind since I hate underwear with those kind of material anyway, but I guess stay away from this pantyliner if you exclusively wear those kinds of undies.I actually wear these every day, regardless if i’m spotting or near my period or not. I find they make me feel much cleaner, and overall keep me and my undies hygienic. on really long days where I have still many hrs before I can go home and shower, I can just change pantyliner when I start to feel gross, and then i’m back to feeling fresh again lol.I love love love these and cannot recommend them enough, but again beware that these are not for when you’re on your period!

Decent liner
This one is thinner than other brands. Itâs smaller also. Sometimes this is what I need so Iâm not complaining. They are each individually plastic wrapped which is a bit wasteful. It doesnât absorb too much so I wouldnât use this when you feel you need extra protection.
