Customers say

Customers find the thermometer accurate, durable, and well-backlit, considering it worth the price. The read speed and water resistance receive mixed feedback – while some find it very fast and water resistant, others note it’s not an instant read and the display can become unreadable after light use. The functionality also receives mixed reviews, with some reporting it stopped working for no reason.

U people r nuts this thermometer is the bomb for the money
Had it a year. In 0 degree temps or 90 outside its always functioned awesome. Reads fast. The backlight is great. Probe tip size is great. An absolute must have at the grill. For the price u can’t beat this thing. Taylor makes great stuff. This is a restaurant commercial grade thermometer and the anti microbial is always a plus too. You can’t go wrong. How u break off battery door is beyond me. Stop dropping it on cement peopleBuy it. You’ll love it

This used to be 1/3 the price
I’m not sure why this has such terrible reviews. I’ve had this for almost two years now. And it by far the best thermometer I’ve ever used. It is easy to read, accurate. I’ve dropped it so many time still good. But the big difference I bought it for $11.71.

unlike a lot of the Cooper-Atkins thermometers the contrast is pretty bad, so I had to use it’s light …
I would give this thermometer 5 stars but two things happened while at work using it over the last month. 1, unlike a lot of the Cooper-Atkins thermometers the contrast is pretty bad, so I had to use it’s light function even in normal lighting. 2, one of the 2 I purchased just stopped working for no reason. I tried a new battery and still nothing. And then the following day it began working fine again. That was 3 weeks ago. No big deal but once you open it the rubber seal on the battery compartment won’t every quite seal as well again. It is one of the fastest full size thermometers I have used. It also (AFTER the died for a day issue) survived being left in a hot box at 200 degrees for almost an hour by mistake. The LCD turned full black, but after it cooled back down was just as readable as before.Lastly who ever made the holder is a genius. Every other holder clips on a pocket on a sleeve or a actual pocket. This one can actually clip on my belt, so no searching for the holder when it falls off me.

The best I’ve ever had in thermometers
By far the best locket thermometer I’ve owned, the backlight is awesome and it truly is waterproof and the holder is secure and durable. Buy this if you’re looking for one.

    Works until it doesn’t
It’s got a good interface, good buttons, well-backlit, probe is sharp, gives good data. But, like everything else Taylor produces, it’s shoddily-constructed. Lightweight, extremely fragile, not just outside but inside. Ask anyone in food prep about their experience with these: they break all the time. I handled mine with kid gloves for years, a chunk of the probe sheathe broke where it snaps on to the thermometer housing, but I kept using it. One drop of 4 feet from counter to tile destroyed the thermocouple. This isn’t just a problem with this item, it’s every Taylor product, of which I have a few. They work great, they feel like crap, they break easily.
