Seems to work.
Seems to work with temperatures matching my old non-electronic thermometer. Kind of cheaply made and the instructions are written in microscopic pitch. Don’t lose them!

My favorite on the line
It’s compact, durable ,waterproof and isn’t an arm & a leg lol. They last a long time…1 year-ish each for me and mine take a lot abuse! This is the fourth one I’ve ordered and I’ll be back whenever I need a new one

Compact, accurate, reasonably fast
Pros:- compact & easy to use- very accurate out of the box- can be easily recalibrated (hold SET then push HOLD and MAX at the same time. Submerge in ice water for 30 seconds, press MAX again to set it to 32F/0C, then hold SET. Done!)- waterproof (haven’t tested in dishwasher yet)- seems durable, at least for my use- probe cover can be used as handle extension- simple, industrial look – no bright orange flames or meat grilling tables cluttering the surface. The blue looks nice, the buttons are functional with a sturdy feelCons:- takes about 3-5 seconds for a reading, but this seems to be the norm with these types of thermometers. It updates fast once it gets to temperature.- display lacks backlight. Not an issue for me since this will extend battery life, but the thermometer will be hard to read in dark places.- buttons might feel a bit stiff to some people. Personally I think they just feel sturdy rather than stiff. Keep in mind they’re supposed to be waterproof, so there’s no way to make them soft and tactile.I use this thermometer for brewing tea and coffee. It’s pretty much perfect for this purpose. The probe is short enough to fit most mugs and gongfu style teaware, without creating an imbalance and tipping things over. I’m sure it works great for poking meat too.

NOT Waterproof. Waste of money
Worked until it was washed. Submerged briefly in water, set to dry and then didn’t work. Water was in display window. Removed battery backing and battery to dry out. Put battery back in and could no longer turn off. Used, kept from submerging when washing, now the display shows “8” all across reading and no longer works.

HVAC tech here.I kept losing my digital thermometer and got tired of spending $50+ for the bigger name brands. This works great; display is a little small, and is not magnetic, but hey, it works.

Item works okay

Tested in ice water, it showed a temperature of 0.6 degrees Celsius instead of the standard 0 degrees Celsius. For a thermometer, this is unusable.
