Cod liver oil has a long history of traditional use for the support of overall health and well-being.* The cod liver oil used in this softgel is manufactured under strict quality control standards. It is tested to be free of potentially harmful levels of contaminants such as PCBs, dioxins, mercury and other heavy metals. From the FDA: “Supportive but not conclusive research shows that consumption of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.” This extra strength product has more cod liver oil (1,000 mg per softgel) than our cod liver oil 650 mg softgel product. I take Omega 3 Fish Oil Capsules with COQ10 for the general cardio benefits as I age.I follow Dr Berg and he recommends Cod Liver Oil for Omega 3 and vitamin benefits.These capsules from NOW Brands are reasonably priced and I have had no side effects…no bad taste, no odors, etc.

Yeah, Cod Liver Oil? Yuck! Well, not really. Gel caps go down easy, no burping fish flavors, and my doctor is quite pleased that I’m off of statins because these dropped my bad cholesterol.

Affordable, Seemingly Quality Cold Liver Oil
I buy this brand of cod liver oil every few months for my wife and I, to ensure we are getting sufficient Omega 3s and to a lesser degree, 9s. We’ve never gotten fish burps from them and for the price, that’s mostly what I hope for. Especially when I compare this brand of fish oil to the FAR more expensive alternatives that I’ve purchased in the past. Yes, there may indeed be quality benefits from the more expensive brands but I just cannot justify $80 more every few months, especially when I’ve never been able to tell the difference between this, or the more expensive brands. Of course, I’m referring to the pilled versions, not the liquid. The liquid fish oils that I buy are super expensive and I consider them to be almost a treat because of the price, so I ration my use of these liquid-only oils. These NOW Supplement pills though, are my daily use oils and meet that need perfectly. Can’t recommend them more, especially at this price point.

I purchased this product with high hopes, but it turned out to be a disappointment, especially for individuals with stomach-related problems like gastritis, acid reflux, or IBS. Regrettably, it exacerbated my existing issues, causing severe acid reflux and stomach inflammation. If you have similar concerns, I strongly advise against investing in this product. It was a complete waste of my money and an unpleasant experience overall.
