Fabulous for slow digestion/constipation
This probiotic works! As I got into my 60’s I had increasing bouts of constipation. After many tests I was told by my primary care doctor that I had IBS-C. My digestive system was sluggish and I was bloated. I tried many things, softeners, senna (which gave me horrible cramping and diarrhea), fiber supplements, prunes, etc. They all worked – eventually. I wasn’t regular by any means. I read an article that mentioned the main prebiotic in this as being helpful in promoting regularity. I started with 1 capsule and at day 4 took 2 capsules. It works well, no cramping, diarrhea, no more bloating! I “go” every day as long as I take this probiotic, I feel so much better! I do take a fiber supplement as well.

Here is some science. Don’t take my word for it, but this does seem to work.
There is no particular reason that you should choose something to put in your body on the recommendation of someone’s review on Amazon, so I am going to direct you to a peer-reviewed journal article by Azuma et al., (2023) titled Effect of continuous ingestion of bifidobacteria and dietary fiber on improvement in cognitive function: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Since I don’t actually expect you to look up this article and read it, I will just offer a few words about it. Gut bacteria has been shown to have an impact on cognition, among other positive effects on health generally. This article specifically tested Bifidobacterium animalis lactis, which is the probiotic in this very product. This trial showed improvement in cognition after 12 weeks of taking the bifidobacteria vs. placebo. Specifically, the researchers found that there were positive (and statistically significant) changes in: complex attention, cognitive flexibility, and executive function (e.g., sustained attention, processing speed). So that’s the science.Here is the testimonial. I am approaching 70 years of age, and I earned a PhD in Psychology at the tender age of 58. I teach full time at a community college and typically have between 5 and 7 classes each semester and around 300 students per year. It’s a lot. Since I started taking this probiotic, along with Inulin (as also tested in the article) I have noticed some additional clarity of thought and improved memory. It’s not a ‘holy cow this is amazing’ sort of improvement, but I have noticed an improvement. I recommend this product.

Seems to help but hate caps
I have felt better since I started taking these probiotics for a few months now. Only thing I do not like about their products is the bottle that they come in. The cap will not stay on tight. I have to tape it down. I wrote the company and suggested that they fix the cap on the bottle. They have not changed it. I think that supplements should be in a tightly sealed container.UPDATE: This is my 3rd bottle. Cap will not seal! Itâs a good product but I can find something else that will seal better. You would think if they sell this they would fix the caps!!

The only probiotic I take
I’ve been using this probiotic for years. It’s the only one that actually works for slow gut transit (low bowel movement frequency). The strain “Bifidobacterium Lactis HN019 is clinically proven to survive digestion and work in the colon. It also is proven effective for metabolic syndrome and it’s associated complications like high cholesterol. I’ve found clinical trials on the pubmed site that have confirmed these results. This is one exerpt from a trial of this strain of probiotic.From clinical trial on pubmed.” Results: Daily ingestion of 80 mL fermented milk with 2.72 à 10(10) colony-forming units of B. lactis HN019 showed significant reduction in body mass index (P = 0.017), total cholesterol (P = 0.009), and low-density lipoprotein (P = 0.008) compared with baseline and control group values. Furthermore, a significant decrease in tumor necrosis factor-α (P = 0.033) and interleukin-6 (P = 0.044) proinflammatory cytokines was observed.Conclusion: These data showed potential effects of B. lactis HN019 in reducing obesity, blood lipids, and some inflammatory markers, which may reduce cardiovascular risk in patients with MetS.”It is definitely the only probiotic that has ever made a significant difference in my digestive health and markers for cardiovascular disease.

Surprisingly effective
I eat a ton of soluble and insoluble fiber, exercise a lot, and drink plenty of water. Still, my digestion seemed to have ground to a halt over the last few months and the only explanation I could come up with is that I am 51 and the problem is probably related to changes in my hormones (there is also some clinical data backing this up). I didn’t want to take loads of senna or softeners, and they didn’t really work anyway. I tried chicory capsules for a gentler alternative to those products, and that didn’t work either. So I started reading up on probiotics and found solid data supporting the combined use of the exact strains contained in THIS product to alleviate idiopathic (unexplained) constipation. After a single 2-capsule dose, believe it or not, I was back on track. I kind of can’t even believe it! Now I subscribe to a monthly delivery, take 2 pills a day in the mid-morning, and feel really appreciative that this product is out there! I’m also really grateful that the price is so reasonable.

Not sure if itâs working
Not sure. I bought this because I read reviews that this would help with constipation but I feel like it made it a bit worse. I havenât finished the bottle yet, maybe only half at this point so not sure if I need to give it more time. But I donât think I will be repurchasing. I bought a bottle of RE probiotics to test that one out as well.

Now Products are great.
I read reviews online for probiotics and this one has all the right strains and the price is good. I have started giving this to my husband who has cancer and my parents. My Mom has Dementia. I have read that if the gut is not working properly then it causes inflammation and effects the whole body including the brain. I have been taking this now for over a year and I believe that it has help my mood and my gut a lot.
