Cats give it 5 Stars
My 2 cats, plus all my feral and community cats except one) give this food 5 stars. If I put a handful of this down next to say ‘ Purina Cat Chow’, they will eat this first EVERY time. I have 1 community cat that doesn’t like it very much. But then she is quite persnikity anyway.

Chicken is the first ingredient which is great, but this cat food is a bit pricey.
I like most of the ingredients that are in this Natural Balance Ultra Protein Plus Dry Cat Food. I have heard that a dog can eat grain based dog food their entire life without feeling any harmful effects, however, cats cannot. Cats need animal protein for optimal health.I like that the first ingredient in this cat food is chicken. That should mean that this cat food is mostly made of chicken. Chicken and turkey meal are the next two ingredients. Because they are animal products those two ingredients should also be good foods to give to cats.Yesterday I happened to see a video about a family’s puppy that developed a limp. The vet found that the puppy had a cancer growing around it’s hip bone. The puppy’s owner is a food influencer who was surprised that their puppy was ill. They thought that they’d been feeding their puppy a healthy grain free dog food. Because she’s a food influencer who is convinced that human beings can live on meat alone, she decided to read the label on her puppy food. She was surprised to learn that the grains in her puppy’s grain free dog food had been replaced with legumes.The third and fourth ingredients in this cat food are peas and chickpeas. Peas and chickpeas are legumes. After listening to that food influencer with the sick puppy I am not so sure that peas and chickpeas are the best things to feed a cat. I have no proof that this is the case, and, this is the only time that I have heard that this. Legumes may not have caused the food influencer’s puppy illness but I feel that it’s something to keep in mind with this cat food.The day after this small bag of cat food arrived at my house 8 kittens showed up with their two mother cats outside my front door. We were expecting them since my daughter had started feeding the neighborhood stray cat and her daughter cat. My daughter has plans to get all of them spayed if we can get them to hang around along enough.This Natural Balance Ultra Protein Plus Dry Cat Food was probably the first solid food that those 8 little kittens had ever eaten. They took to it right away.This cat food is shaped into tiny little circles that are small enough to be eaten by kittens that are about to be weaned. I marked on the calendar when we saw that one of the mother cats was no longer pregnant, so some of the 8 kittens were probably about 5 weeks old when they showed up. I like the small size of this cat food because even 5 week old kittens can eat it.I also gave some of this cat food to my daughter’s cats who live in my house. I found that the cats who like eating real meat enjoyed this cat food more than cats who don’t like to eat real meat, which I suspected might be the case.This Natural Balance Ultra Protein Plus Dry Cat Food is a bit pricey for me. Due to the legumes that it contains and to help cut down on the expense I would probably recommend it as a food to be given to cats as a treat maybe 2-3 days a week. Because this food contains animal fat it might be a good idea to keep it refrigerated as well.Four stars!

Great ingredients – my cat loves it
The most important part first, my cat immediately went over and started eating this and never seemed to dislike it in any way. That’s critical because a cat food that a cat won’t eat isn’t very helpful at all – no matter how healthy or nutricious it is.After making sure he liked it, I blended this food with his current food 1:4, then 1:2 then 1:1 then 2:1 and 4:1 and then slowly tapered the last bit off. He ate about the same amount of food as always and seemed to be happy to eat it.The ingredients seem like they’re very high quality – it should be good for most cat’s health. The cost is definitely higher than a lot of the crappy cat foods you find – but it’s about the cost you’d expect for higher end cat food – so to me the value for money is quite good as the ingredients are great.

Cats loved it
This food has a good protein level, which I appreciate because my cat is a bit on the chubby side. Heâs always been a bit of a picky eater, but he does eat this stuff like crazy. In general, Iâve been pretty happy with this brand. I do worry about having to pay top dollar for this, but so far his gut has been in good condition, so Iâm not going to switch to a cheaper brand and risk a tummy ache. Itâs a good choice if youâre not on a budget.

The cats liked it and it seemed easy on their stomachs. It didn’t smell bad like some cat foods do. It’s a little expensive but I like knowing that my cats are getting high-quality ingredients.

I prefer this version over the regular protein due to the supposed focus on digestive health which is really important for me to focus on with the kitties. And sure the half a pound reduction is felt in pricing, I feel like the tradeoff would be absolutely worth it. They also like it which is a huge plus

Great product, but needs to be updated to include a reusable bag seal.
I hate to leave three stars because it’s a really great product and my cats like it, however, I don’t have enough cats to feed a whole bag at once. I don’t know why the bag doesn’t have a built-in zip seal to keep it fresh — this is not a big economy size bag, but a modest small bag, so it really should have a reusable seal. Yes, I’m using tape to hold it closed, but every manufacturer I have for small bags or treats come with a resealable seal to keep it fresh and convenient.

Cat is semi-interested in this kibble
My cat is picky about treats but usually not about dry or wet food. Sheâs pretty neutral on this kibble. She doesnât go crazy for it but she isnât turning her nose up at it either. The kibble size is good, not too big, and it dispenses easily from her autofeeder. The ingredient list is great, with chicken and chicken meal listed as the first two ingredients.
