Customers say

Customers praise the mustache wax for its serious hold that lasts all day and its effectiveness, with one customer noting it works well for old gray mustaches. The wax provides a natural look and keeps handlebar mustaches perfectly styled, while being easy to work in once warmed up. However, the smell receives mixed reactions, with some finding it very mild while others describe it as funky. Moreover, customers disagree on the ease of application, with some finding it super hard to work with. Additionally, the stickiness is a concern, as it leaves sticky fingers and everything you touch becomes a sticky mess. The heat requirement is also mixed, with some noting it doesn’t require heat while others say it needs to be heated to be malleable.

    High quality stache wax
Finally ran out of my 3 cans of Death Grip, by Vintage Grooming. A wax I am thoroughly impressed by and use every day.I was invited to purchase Bone Crusher on an early batch but still had a mountain of Death Grip and did not need another tin in my supplies. That said; I would have bought 2 had I known just how great the latest offering from Vintage Grooming is.I ordered a can, and was rather excited.I absolutely love the packaging and branding from Vintage Grooming. I own a tee shirt and their stickers decorate my work shop. And I find uses for the tins. And the guitar picks are a little extra detail that really make their wax stand out.So I couldn’t wait to see the latest art featured on the Bone Crusher.I was not disappointed. The art is phenomenal and unique. But Art doesn’t make the wax.The price is right in line with their other waxes. It won’t break the bank and your money will go far. And it’s money well spent.Opening my Bone Crusher; very easy.I’ve had trouble with Death Grip. Once the wax gets on the threads, there are times I need channel locks to break that sucker open. I have yet to see if BC gooks up the threads in a similar fashion. But so far, it has not been an issue. To solve the DG unthreading problem, I simply do not engage the lid fully. I don’t have to apply it more than once a day, and therefore have no need to carry it with me. And no need to seal it.This is a first world problem and does not take away from DG which I rate 5 stars.Bone Crusher is not as sticky. It is a tough wax. Rock hard in the can. A hairdryer is absolutely required.Thankfully, the residue doesn’t cling to the hairdryer or the plug.I’ve had Death Grip on just about every item in my house at one point or another. Not so much with Bone Crusher. It has a manly smell. Not flowery or perfumed. That’s not to say it smells bad.It is a pleasant scent and appropriate for a mans stache. It smells fresh and clean. Just not overpowering.Heating it up with a hairdryer on high heat. It takes much longer than DG. Stays liquid for a very brief time and is dry by the time it gets to the stache. Therefore more heat is needed. It goes in wonderfully smooth. It doesn’t clump or clot. My stache doesn’t separate into multiple strands. And therefore the wax just coats everything evenly and requires very little. And that little will go a long way. A few dips in the liquid wax on each side. A few strokes. Some pinches and smoothing. A few tweaks to shape it.In spite of a longer heat time. It takes less time to shape and form and get a good even coat than with DG.My stache looks natural and full. It doesn’t look like I’ve got any product in. And it remains in shape, all day.I have a large mustache and I’m not using much BC at all.Shaping my stache into a proper and finely sculpted Handlebar is a breeze and less messy.I work in a forge with hot sparks and high temperatures. Welding and grinding and a lot of fumes and smoke. The BC holds up 100%It was the same shape when I left the house and the same shape after 10 hours of work.In fact, it only relaxes after I soap up and leave it in for most of my shower. And to my satisfaction, my mustache seems to be healthier since I started using BC.I’ll still buy DG. But my new primary wax is definitely Bone Crusher. If you need a solid, extra strong hold wax, then Id definitely recommend it. You won’t be disappointed.

Wax that is worth using !!
If you like to have a wax that doesn’t feel tacky and you don’t want to be fixing your mustache through out the day. This wax is the definitive solution. First picture is bone crusher and second picture is death grip. I like more bone crusher. I think is a solid option for places where is really hot. The versatility of this wax and performance beats death grip at least in hot humid conditions. I still use death grip but for a more relaxed handlebar and it tends to do those curlings on the tip that I honestly hate. Use a hot comb for better results. Totally worth your money !! . Third picture is how I started the day with bone crusher and first picture is how I ended it.

Feels great, good hold most of the time
Been using the product consistently for about 2 weeks now. Styling the mustache with wax is a bit of a new thing for me. I’ve tried it a few times in the past with other products, but never really used those products more than sporadically since they felt so heavy. I don’t feel as much of that same “heaviness” with the Bare Bones wax. I am still getting accustomed to how much wax to use as well as properly applying it, but so far it’s going well. My plan was more to style and hold the longer hairs out of my mouth, but now I feel like I really want to perfect that handlebar look.I will say it works well, but some days it feels like I need to use more wax to keep the hold. Those are usually the days when the styling breaks down easier. But when I get the amount of wax right, it really holds all day, even during a sweaty gym workout. One thing I don’t like is how it can form small clumps when trying to apply, but a little bit of heat from a blow dryer helps before applying. And it is a bit difficult to get some stray hairs to style, but that might resolve as I get more accustomed to styling, as well as strategic future trims. Ultimately, I may go ahead and get the stronger hold at some point, and maybe use the Bare Bones for more relaxed situations.

    Best wax for me stache.
I just bought a can of Sudden Death yesterday and I can tell it’s my new favorite mustache wax. It smells like a hike through the redwood forest, With strong notes of pine sap and subtle hint of beeswax. Some of the other mustache waxes have artificial fragrances, which give me a headache. This stuff smells amazing, and makes you want to reapply multiple times throughout the day if only just for the pleasure of whiffing, my evergreen scented mustache.Another big plus with this wax is that it does not get clumpy, it’s also a lot easier to use than Death Grip. I’m sure if I had a bigger mustache I would need death grip, but I’m not there yet. This is a great mustache wax for mustache that’s half inch to an inch long.I won’t be buying any other waxes. This is my new standard. Sudden Death takes the cake.

    Strongest hold I can find
With “Can You Handlebar” Secondary off the market, this is now the strongest stuff I can find. It holds better than Death Grip and is a lot let messy. Works best with a blow dryer but can still use it fine warmijg it up between your fingers. Great product!

It required heat to use it.
I thought I ordered a product the required no heat. I received a product that has to be heated. I will be sending it back.

It’s sticky icky more than your other
I feel new to the beard mustache game. I’ve been trying things for my curly mustache and it was easy till it actually got long. Then I struggled. I researched what do pros use. bam! This 2 AM going to bed. Mustache still 90% perfect. I take pride in my beard and mustache. Death grip makes it easy.

I’ve only used Death Grip before, so I was excited to try more from Vintage Grooming—and it definitely didn’t disappoint.Death Grip Moustache Wax delivers exactly what the name promises—a seriously strong hold that keeps your style locked in all day. Whether you’re out in the wind, heat, or humidity, this wax keeps your moustache looking sharp and perfectly in place. The texture is very firm and requires the use of a hair dryer to apply heat, making the wax workable and ensuring a smooth application without clumping. Once softened, it goes on cleanly and gives excellent control. It leaves a slightly tacky feel, but not in a negative way—it just ensures your stache stays in place all day without feeling too stiff or hard. What I really appreciate is that it’s made with natural ingredients and has a subtle, pleasant scent—nothing overpowering, just a touch of that classic barbershop feel.To clean my moustache, I used to rely on baby oil to help break down the wax before washing it out with shampoo, but I found that shampoo tended to dry it out. Lately, I’ve been skipping the shampoo altogether. Instead, I use an oil to loosen the wax, wipe off the excess with a dry cloth, and then thoroughly rinse with water in the bath. This method keeps my stache healthy, soft, and even a bit shapeable without wax. This is the first time I’ve used Night Fury, and I’m impressed. It has a lovely, subtle citrus scent. After applying just a few drops and waiting a couple of minutes, I work it through with my fingers and gently massage it into the hairs and any remaining wax, then wipe off. It leaves the moustache feeling clean, nourished, and not greasy.I’m also excited to try the other three waxes in their range—Bare Bones, Bone Crusher, and Sudden Death. Bare Bones sounds perfect for those days when I want hold but without the stiffness. Sudden Death offers a firm hold without needing a hair dryer, ideal for quicker routines. And Bone Crusher promises an extra firm hold without the tackiness, which sounds perfect for when I want even more structure. The presentation box is of good quality and feels sturdy. The corners were a little damaged, but I imagine that’s more due to transit during delivery than a fault with the product itself. The two metal combs included have a nice weight and a smooth finish, showing good craftsmanship. Each has a hole for attaching to a keyring, which is a handy feature. I doubt I’ll use the larger one, as I shave my pate bald, but the smaller comb will definitely be part of my regular grooming kit.Whether you’re shaping a modest stache or going full Dali, Death Grip gives you the control and confidence to wear your style proudly. Highly recommend for anyone serious about moustache grooming.

Good heavens, dollface, this wax is the bee’s knees! One dab of Sudden Death’s Death Grip—and my whiskers stand to attention better than a brass band at Newark Station. The scent? Rye and rosewater, with just a hint of Saturday night soiree—simply spiffing! That clever guitar‑pick gizmo? A real sockdollager: I just flick out the perfect pinch, no fuss, no muss. With one slick application my ‘stache stays curved like the crescent moon over Manhattan—firm as Old Glory in a stiff breeze—and holds all day through speakeasy shenanigans.Styling is a snap, old bean. Even the most obstinate hairs obey like ushers at the Ritz. I twirl my handlebars with panache at breakfast, and by evening I’m still looking the cat’s pajamas. No re‑application needed—this miracle paste is my secret weapon against wayward moustache mutiny. If you fancy yourself a real hepcat with a golden ‘tache, trust me, Sudden Death’s Death Grip is the real McCoy. Five out of five fedoras—this stuff is simply the bee’s whiskers!-Reginald “Reggie” Thistledown, Esq., Handlebar Aficionado
