Double-Check Thermostat Accuracy
I live in a very warm climate and I don’t have central air conditioning, just window units, and I was concerned they might be running unnecessarily. I love these little guys- they fit just about anywhere (I stuck one on top of my thermostat) and the sticky pads work great. They confirm that my AC is working properly and when winter comes, I’ll be able to save on my gas bill for the heater. They are very accurate and I trust what they are telling me. I’d like to have one in every room and at this price, I can do that and I definitely recommend them.

solid little thermometer with some tiny cons
basically what my little title says, this thing is solid and its really good for knowing how hot my car is on the inside (it has a black interior and im wierd like that). the only issue ive had is that it managed to get so hot INSIDE the car (136f) today that the heat energy ALONE lit up ALL the segments and i thought it died until the temp cooled down and the segments started showing properly. i didnt know that was EVEN POSSIBLE lmao. so yeah if you wanna measure temps over 135f… good luck reading it lmaoalso as for the other stuff amazon wants me to write about, the thing updates really fast (i think 1 time a second?), its really accurate (from what i can tell). 120 at one point in time feels like 120 at another point in time for example. also it looks pretty good i would say. i think the only real issue is the adhesive, which depending on the surface is kinda ass. i had to use a bit of tape to tape it to my cars dashboard but it was completely fine otherwisealso one of them had the batteries dead on arrival but the batteries that came w it fixed that issue.so yea overall good product, would def buy again

GOOD LITTLE THERMOMETERS, I USE TO MONITOR HVAC OUTLET TEMPS
Handy little stick-on thermometers with humidity also. I bought these to stick to corners of our HVAC outlets in our desert home to monitor multiple central A/C outlet air temps especially when outside air temps reach 110-115 degrees. Having these stuck to the corners of the air outlets makes it much easier to check outlet air temps versus walking around using my infrared temperature gun to point at outlets from time to time or guessing if the central AC units are putting out cold enough air just by feel. These are not real big so are a little difficult to read in dim light, but they are fine for what I need them for. I checked them against a few other indoor thermometers and they appear to be pretty accurate. HVAC techs should provide these to homeowners with central air so they can accurately assess how well their HVAC units are working on an ongoing basis as far as providing cool enough air. Everything I read says shoot for outlet air temp in the range of15-20 degrees below ambient room air temp. When I was using my infrared gun last year I saw one of our rooftop HVAC units (which does half our house) was putting out “cold” air that was only 8-10 degrees below room temps, so I had the HVAC people over. They cleaned the coils and condensers on our rooftop HVAC units and added a little refrigerant and that fixed the problem 100% and the outlet air for that HVAC unit then came out 17-22 degrees (slightly different from outlet to outlet) lower than room temp air. Â

I’m not including a picture because the ones provided in the Amazon listing are perfect for this product. Planetary overheating causes rather minor variations in what is called dew point but those variations are associated with very large variations in comfort. Dew point is easy to compute using the figures provided by this meter which are accurate and easy to read. The product can be carried with you indoors or outdoors and is moderately water resistant. I intend to incorporate this product into a control panel which will hold my telephone my smartphone as well as this meter above the front derailleur mount on my tricycle. Most phones now have pressure meters but it’s awkward and difficult to get readings of humidity from a phone. A good benchmark for comfort is a dew point of 65° Fahrenheit. A good benchmark for discomfort is a dew point of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If you want to you can connect to the weather computers at weather.gov and navigate to the hourly weather predictions for your location. If you have a reliable internet connection and our mobile and need to be able to predict your comfort level such as I have a need for when I ride my tricycle then you can select in the hourly weather predictions from weather.gov the dew point for your location and track when it is above 70 at which point you probably won’t want to go outside. But lacking a reliable always on internet connection on a mobile pedestrian human powered vehicle this meter provides the same information for the current status of the air using a relatively simple computation which you can find on the Wikipedia. I recommend this meter for any amateur scientist pedestrian who wants to know when comfort levels are approaching their tolerance limit and also for anyone who wants to place it near the thermostat in their home to provide a little extra information for adjusting the thermostat to maintain comfort instead of merely a temperature
