Customers say
Customers find these thermometers great for classroom science experiments. However, the accuracy and value for money receive mixed reviews, with some finding them accurate while others report they’re not accurate, and while some consider them a great product, others describe them as super cheap quality. Moreover, durability is a concern as customers report that they break very easily.

EXCELLENT for what they are, and accurate when calibrated.
For all those complaining about accuracy “out of the box” you have obviously had no mechanical training at all. Yes, these read all over the place when you get’em. That’s why they are cheap. However, it is dead easy to get each and every one spot on. They are mounted on a thin plastic card. The scale is easy to read and the card, though thin, is durable enough to get the job done. The actual bulb tube is mounted to the card with two plastic clips. LOOK VERY CLOSELY at the °C side of the GLASS TUBE (not the plastic) almost around to the back side. You will see a tiny black marked etched into the glass. That black mark represents the 20°C calibration mark. Move that to line up with 20°C and move the plastic clips in to grip the tube at that spot… done. You can check this with a reference thermometer that is accurate and see that it works. The more accurate your reference the better. I used two K-type digital thermistor thermometers. Just adjust by sliding the clips up or down as needed . Now every single one is reading within 1/2°C of each other and that is close enough for government work. If you are running a physics lab, then look elsewhere. These work for me.

Good & accurate
All of these are spot on. Be sure to adjust the paper to the 20C mark to calibrate them. It’s marked with a sharpie or something on it.You can also calibrate them all so they’re in line with each other and another temp sensor before setting them somewhere.

Basic & lightweight but still good
Very thin flexible plastic backing but not cheap. This is perfect for me as I tape one to my flat mirror on my semi. One in my ð, garage, so on. As for accuracy, I believe they are accurate(ish).

Product has lead exposure warning
Warning on label that this product contains LEAD.This is not listed under âmaterialsâ tab â it just says plastic. Misleading and disappointing.

It was just ok
There were 10 thermometers. Generally, the temperature readings were off by one or two degrees F. It’s good for a rough estimate and a learning tool. You can see the pen lines at 70 degrees F for when they calibrate the thermometer prior to gluing in the backing plastic sheet. The lines didn’t line up exactly. The backing plastic can warp with heat, which limits the usage range.

Excellent
I put them all over my house, they all seem to read the same. The red alcohol was separated in one, but it was easy to fix by dipping in warm/hot water (140f, didn’t want to warp the plastic) until the liquid rejoined. I even trimmed the edges of one down and put it in my aquarium, it seems to read water as accurately as air. I have a lot of other thermometers I tested them against. I wouldn’t say a plastic thermometer has extreme precision, but it’s good enough for me.

Works well
I think this product is well done. First grade Students were able to use it easily. I gave 3 stars for the value of the money because I still think that it is overpriced for what it is worth it. But could not find anything cheaper.
