Good so far
I have had laser hair removal done on several body parts in the past, but the hair is starting to grow back in some places. It’s not really enough hair to warrant going back for more laser hair removal, so for this reason, I decided to try this product out. If you’ve been in the market for this kind of a device, you probably know that there are many different yet very similar products available all over Amazon and the internet in general. This device is just one of them, but one of the nice things about it that I actually didn’t realize when I ordered it was that you can also treat acne and put it in skin rejuvenation mode.It actually takes a while to see results from laser hair removal and also from this procedure, and I haven’t really had it that long so I can’t comment as yet whether it is actually working. The area that I’m working on generally grows back very slowly anyway, so it will probably take me several months before I can comment on that. However, I can comment on this machine in general, and I can say that it is very easy to use. If you’ve never done laser hair removal or IPL before and are worried about whether or not it will hurt, I can say with confidence that it’s really just a small snap over and over- kind of like static electricity, but not as intense. For the most part and compared to many other hair removal devices, it is a very small amount of discomfort.I don’t have acne so I can’t really comment either on whether it works on acne, but it is nice to have that as an option. When I do have breakouts I have several at a time, so the next time I have a breakout I will definitely give this a try because we all know that the products out there to treat acne take many days if not weeks for the symptoms to go away. This device is really easy to use, and comes with helpful packaging and instructions, and the nice thing is that there aren’t a whole ton of attachments if you want to use the different modes. This device is small enough to be able to use in small places, like on your face, but also large enough that if you want to use it on your legs it’s not going to take you absolutely forever to cover a large amount of space.Overall, I like using the device so far and I think it’s a good quality. If it works then does what it says it’s going to do then? I think it would be a really great option for somebody who has just some patches of hair growth that they want to work on without getting laser. You can’t really beat the price and it’s easy enough to use in the comfort of your own home. Being that there are many different kinds of these products on the market, I feel confident saying they’re generally all the same. So at the end of the day it probably will come down to price. Having said that, I think this is competitively priced.

Adequate IPL. Low power (36W). Model AI-01
You have a LOT of choices for IPL hair removal devices on Amazon now. I feel like I have tested an crazy number of them myself, and at this point, I can tell you that most of them are quite similar functionally. There are differences in the aesthetics, or where the buttons go, or how they work, but most of these are produced in only a handful of factories and work about the same. There are some differences to be aware of: How powerful the device is, and whether it has active “ICE” cooling are two of the big ones. This particular IPL is pretty average. Average (or low-average) power (36W) and adequate features.Specifics of this IPL device:** Has three modes: Hair removal (HR), skin rejuvenation (SC) and Acne (RA)** 36W power supply (low-level)** NO ICE skin cooling functionality** LCD screen shows focus area and power level (1-9)** Gun shape, more convenient in the hand** The power cord attaches to the end of the unit (see photos)** No attachments to change the flash end shape** Rated for 999,999 flashes, 9 power levels. You run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair and make sure you expose all the hair follicles in that region. You will not see any immediate results. The light signals your hair to stop growing, but it requires multiple treatments over several weeks before you will be expected to see results. Eventually, you should find a substantial reduction in the hair in the treated areas. In the box, you get the tool, a power cord, a pair of eye protection glasses, a cheap disposable razor, plus instructions. This gun offers three modes: Hair removal (HR), Skin rejuvenation (SC), Acne mode (RA). Typically, if an IPL device offers these alternate modes, it will come with additional filters that attach to the front of the gun to focus the wavelength of the light. The usefulness of these alternative modes (outside of HR) is subject to debate. But in any event, they are generally based on focusing the light into a more narrow range than that used by HR. I can’t attest to the usefulness/viability here, although it’s easy enough to turn these modes on (press button on the back of the gun to switch mode).Overall, this is a pretty average entry-level IPL device, and although the additional modes is a plus, I remain skeptical about how useful they really are. Whether this is the IPL you want to buy depends a lot on whether this is competitively priced with similar entry-level units.Pros:** Gun shaped** Multiple modes (HR/SC/RA)** Moderately pricedCons:** Low power (36W)** No additional focusing lenses** No ICE coolingNote that this same IPL (or one extremely similar except for modest cosmetic differences) is sold under a large number of brand names on Amazon. Definitely compare prices.

Low power
I have used other home IPL lasers that seemed more powerful and worked a bit better. This one seems to take longer to get results.

Great
I honestly have to say I had my doubts about this device, I wasn’t very sure how effective it could be. All I can say is that it actually works better than I thought. Following the instructions and being consistent with the applications, it does a great job.

Works as designed
With so many choices of IPL devices on the market it’s hard to choose what’s best. At first glance, this appears to have many of the same features as what you will find available for the general public without moving into the “professional;” grade products. The power option on this is on the lower end of what’s available which likely does impact it’s performance. There are more products out there that are easier to hold/use with different weights to them. This one wasn’t over the top so fatigue wasn’t an issue while using it, comfortable in the hands. This has 9 power levels so you can choose what you’re more comfortable with, especially if you’re a newbie. Super easy to build up to the higher levels, just be patient. Results aren’t immediate and it does require many treatments over several months to see the full effects.I haven’t used this device for anything other than hair removal, but it does have other options for your skin. I haven’t used it on my face so I can’t attest to it’s effectiveness with that.Happy to recommend.
