It last me a long time. I would say almost 2 months and I do a lot of printing between contracts and other papers. I recommend the X because it has more toner.Very easy to change the toner if you have never done it

Put It In and it worked well…
The initial black toner was first to go on my HP4201 printer, so I replaced it with this HP replacement toner cartridge. Easy as can be and being a REAL HP toner cartridge, it worked fine. The print actually seems a little cleaner than the original cartridge, but maybe it’s my imagination. I will never use a fake knock off cartridge again unless there’s zero option. I did this on a different printer and the toner scraped and chipped right off glossy paper. Stick to the real deal if you can.
