i like it
at approximately $36 this is a great value for a serum. i have really been enjoying this product. it applies easily and is textured like a very light cream. i am not sure if it is doing any sort of antiaging thing… but it does seem as though my wrinkles seem to be improved upon waking in the morning (as compared to when i was not using this product), so while i dont see anything major, this little bit is encouraging.

Beginner’s Retinol Serum by Hanskin, Which Appears to be a Reputable Korean Skin Care Company
I ordered this Retinol product because Iâve heard good things about Retinol and a little wrinkle reduction couldnât hurt. Hanskin also appears to be a Korean skin care company with a bit of a track record, and theyâre sold by Ulta as well as on Amazon, which also gives me some confidence in the brand. My main concern with any product I use on or in my body however is safety, and to evaluate that I take a brief look at the manufacturer/distributorâs Transparency, accountability, and Quality.Transparency/History: the âHanskinâ brand trademark belongs to Korean brand CELLTRION SKINCURE CO., LTD.. The earliest US trademark activity dates to about 2009 (they claim to have been founded in 2001). They include an informative timeline of their companyâs growth on their website. According to one distributor of the brand (Hana Hana from the Netherlands), âCelltrion, the parent company behind Hanskin, has more than enough knowledge and experience in biotech and biopharmaceuticals throughout the years. This way, many progressive and patented ingredients were created in their own R&D lab. This means that not only the luxury brands of Celltrion can enjoy these developments, but also the consumer-friendly brand ‘Hanskin’.â On their detailed webpage, Hanskin says that âYou Deserve to Know how things workâ and âTrade Secrets? Totally Overratedâ.Accountability: in their âFormulation Philosophyâ they claim that their products are âDermatologist Testedâ and âSensitive Friendlyâ, Science backed (No Parabens or Sulfates), I couldnât easily find what other steps they take to assure quality control.Quality: This âSerumâ is dispensed from a pump. Mine had a bit of a hard time getting primed, but Iâm not anticipating further issues. Itâs a medium viscosity cream/liquid that feels good when applied. I didnât experience any sensitivity issues. When I googled it, it appears that at least one source recommended a beginning retinol concentration of 0.25% to 1%. This is 0.1%, so I suspect it would be good for someone who is concerned about sensitivity issues. It has an extremely faint scent before it dries, which is reminiscent of camphor/menthol (but as I said, itâs extremely faint). There are almost 40 ingredients in this serum.In Summary, this would appear to be a quality but rather dilute product from a reputable company which is aimed at beginning users of retinol (and possibly at those beginners who like to start skin products slowly to see how itâs tolerated).

Still not a massive improvement.
I don’t really use this as a moisturizer, more like a “step one”. This goes on before sunscreen. I haven’t experienced any major irritation or dryness. This could be beneficial for those with sensitive skin who are cautious about using retinols. I also wear a sun hat outside to prevent any possible reactions. If you’re really concerned, just try it at night before bed! Overall, while I haven’t seen dramatic results in a short period, the serum seems promising for gradual skin renewal. I don’t feel oily once the serum’s absorbed, which is my biggest win! I know I can use it for the long haul without breakouts.
