No nightmares
Have tried at least 5 different OTC sleep aids, all of which have caused dreams/nightmares. This one hasy not…yet. My PCP has indicated most if not all OTCs have melatonin and more than 3 mg per serving is pure marketing. This one fits the bill and works! Imagine that! I can also fall back asleep with no problems….and no side effects (I am 80 yrs. old and am not employed by anyone nor compensated with free products).I have tried one tablet with some effectiveness but the 2 tabs, as recommended on the bottle, seems to work more reliably.

Getting more sleep
I’m one that can fall asleep, but I can’t stay asleep. I will toss and turn while thoughts run through my head, and my body feeling antsy. I’ve tried almost every OTC sleep aid and nothing has worked for me. I was finally prescribed gabapentin, which worked well for me, but I didn’t want to have to take a prescription drug every night. I finally got to my wits end and ordered this sleep aid. I am so glad I ordered it, because I do feel like I get better sleep without waking up throughout the night, and my body feels more calm and relaxed. It may not work 100 percent for me, but it sure works way better than all other OTC sleep aids. The size doesn’t bother me, but yes, the smell and taste isn’t that pleasant, but I can handle it. It almost tastes like a root . I highly recommend this product and I will keep on ordering it as long as it keeps helping me sleep a little better.

Something Has Changed – Issue of Taste – Ingredients
I have used Somnapure for many years, as it has been very helpful to my sleep, and my sleep issues have been both basic (trouble falling asleep) and medical (REM sleep disorder manifested via night terrors). I take it daily.In this review, apologies for its length, I will break down the active ingredients of the former vendor (Peak Life) with the new vendor (Force Factor), as well as the “other ingredients”. There are changes.Some of you have commented on the taste. I am going to assume you are more recent customers of this product, and I will address that as well.So, the product does work…at least for me. Peak Life was the first manufacturer/vendor of this product, which was formulated by MIT graduates, as memory serves. In more recent times…I would say rather recent as of THIS writing…Force Factor is now the vendor.I still have an empty bottle of the Somnapure by Peak Life, and so I am able to compare theirs with Force Factor.The active ingredients all appear to be the same, but the wording is slightly different, and so I cannot be exactly sure, as I am not a board certified nutritionist and am not familiar with some of the newer wording:PEAK LIFE:- Valerian Extract (Root): 500 mg- Lemon Balm Extract: 300 mg- L-Theanine: 200 mg- Hops Extract (Strobile): 120 mg- Chamomile Flower Extract: 50 mg- Passion Flower Extract: 50 mg- Melotonin: 3 mgFORCE FACTOR:- Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) Extract (Root): 500 mg- Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) Extract (Leaf): 300 mg- L-Theanine: 200 mg- Hops (Humulus lupulus) Extract (aerial parts): 120 mg- Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) Flower Extract(aerial parts): 50 mg- Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata) Extract (aerial parts): 50 mg- Melotonin: 3 mgKeep in mind, that I use Somnapure every night and have done so since Peak Life put it on the market, which has been over 10 years ago. So, if something changes, I would spot it pretty fast.THE TASTEMy first Somnapure from Force Factor was LOT #17995 with a “best by” of 08/2022. It was, hands down, the worst tasting Somnapure I have ever had in all the years I have been using it. I am not sure what that was all about, but if you were one of the customers who used that LOT, and especially if you were a new customer, I can certainly understand why you would not find this appealing. (NOTE: The LOT and “best by” are on the BOTTOM of the bottles.)But, I decided to use up that bottle and order more. Thankfully, the next batch from LOT #18841 with a “best by” of 11/22 was much better, in terms of taste. It almost has a slight chocolate taste to it, or maybe that is just my imagination. But, this LOT is much better than the previous first one I received.I will, therefore, continue to use Somnapure. If, however, I ever get another batch like that first one, I will discontinue my multi-year relationship with Somnapure, and return to update this post.OTHER INGREDIENTSI promised to provide the “other ingredients” list, comparing Peak Life’s version with Force Factor and, therefore, will do that to wrap up my review. Perhaps these “other ingredients” account for the different taste between the two vendors. There is no further description on Peak Life’s bottle to indicate if the ingredients are strictly domestic. This could be a big deal now and in the future, especially in terms of China.In regards to China and the Coronavirus, we should probably start being more and more vigilant as to where ingredients come from. In terms of medical ingredients, our nation gets about 80% of its ingredients from China. That could prove very bad in the future if not already.I take a good deal of supplements; most prescribed by MDs (believe it or not), and so from this point onward, I am going to be careful as to what I buy, checking where the ingredients come from. If they are not domestic, I will look elsewhere. I would encourage you to be careful about this as well.I wish you good health.

Yawning in 30 Minutes – Works Great – Just Rag Weed Sufferers Pay Attention to Chamomile
I am very allergic to the rag weed family and knew this going in when I saw the chamomile content. Within 30 minutes I was yawning and slept all night without any other substance [which was a miracle.] I slept 11 hours! But within 30 minutes I also started getting a slight runny nose from the chamomile in this and woke up a little stuffy. I still feel it was worth it. I usually grab 3 benedryl and two melatonins which is a far worse habit to be doing long term to ensure sleep, but would knock anyone out. I started that when menopause and hot flashes kept me up all night and I must break it.Do not take more than two of these. It can have the opposite effect if you do. Also do not expect this to override ten cups of coffee all day or a mean boss breathing down your neck-that you may take to bed with you.Valerian itself tastes nasty and somehow they worked that out in this formula. The main reason I have avoided Valerian. To save money-yes, you can just buy Valerian and Melatonin (those two right there will always work) and maybe a few herbal teas like lemon balm, and be right here on a road to better sleep. But other things have to go – like late in the day coffee and stressors must mentally go in a box under your bed until you wake up. Nothing you can do about them while you are sleeping anyways-BUT keep you from sleeping and then making matters worse in coping abilities the next day.So I like this formula but I may look harder for one without Chamomile.

Honestly can’t sleep without it
I’ve been using somnapure for years now. I use to buy it at my local CVS, but it was a hit and miss on them having it in stock. I started buying it from Amazon and honestly it’s a lot cheaper. Cvs sold them for $25/bottle.These pulls are the only thing that helps me sleep, along with 3mg of Melatonin, & 600mg of CBD oil.I only take 1.5 instead of 2, since 2 is a bit much for me and does create a groggy effect. I found 1.5 works perfectly and it also helps the bottle last a little longer.Highly recommend for anyone looking for a natural sleep medication. It obviously may not work for everyone but it’s worth a shot!

Did not help with my sleep!
I have insomnia pretty bad. This did nothing for me. Was up several times during the night. Was so hopeful, but didnt help.at all. 🙁
