Good book about food lists for diabetes and weight management
This is a good book of food lists from authoritative sources, The American Diabetes Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. It contains a lot of helpful information for meal planning and for managing diabetes and your weight. The book does not contain specific guidelines for determining your daily food exchanges and calories. You are advised to meet with an RDN for that. Note that this book has many identical pages to âChoose Your Foods: Food Lists for Diabetes,â so if you have one book, you might not want to get the other.

X10 Panel Phase Coupler truley improves operation
I have an alarm system that can controll X10 devices based on alarm actions. Mine turns on the light in my entry way whe. Opening my front door so its is not dark coming into the house. On an alarm, all lights (the ones controlled by X10 ) go on.Suddenly, the light would not go on when coming opening the front door. Using my Radio Shack portable plug in controller I discovered that the entry way light would work whe plugged into some outlets but not others. Doing some research I learned that my alarm controller plug in was on the opposite phase that the entry way light was on. Previously, the alarm could turn on the light only because the X10 signal had to travel out to the transformer on the pole and then back to the house. This is an “IFFY” method of operation. This device couples the signal from on phase of your two phase system to the other right at the panel. If you have more than one sub panel, then put this device at the main panel.After installing this device, the alarm system immediately started working again, although about 98%, which is a lot better than 0%.Definately worth the money

Good buy. Happy with the book
Used updated versions of this book for years in conjunction with following my licensed dietician’s instructions on maintaining a balanced and well planned eating program. Helped me lose and maintain and lose weight for many years with other support. Seems can be used for vegetarian diets also providing you have a dietician who understands how to implement.

Does not include any daily exchange guidelines or calorie plans. You are directed to speak with a an RDA to make up a plan to suit your needs.

Read the description carefully
I thought this would have the different diabetic exchanges needed for several caloric levels. It didnât. Itâs handy and a good and concise list. I had to get the exchanges off a search.
