Better than many expensive options
I am shocked at how good this mineral sunscreen is. I am a mineral sunscreen junkie and have so many expensive ($50+ a bottle) high end versions. I have fair/light combo skin and hate greasy, pasty sunscreen. This mineral sunscreen rubs in quickly and isnât greasy. It out performs MANY high end sunscreens. I love that it has 19% zinc (substantial compared to some others) and is waterproof 80 mins. One thing I found interesting (and awesome) is that iron oxide is listed (last) in the ingredients, which means it has a *very* slight tint. Iron oxide is shown to help block visible/blue light which can be important to people like me with discoloration. This sunscreen is pretty robust for a âbasicâ drugstore brand. The color is more of a (very pale yellow almost?) off white, not stark white, I think due to the iron oxide listed. I wouldnât call it tinted, but at least itâs better than paper white sunscreen. In comparison to other thick, heavy, greasy stark white mineral sunscreens, this one is a breeze to rub in! I cannot find anywhere if this sunscreen is nano or non nano, so thatâs something to take into consideration if you care, which I really do not. If nano sunscreen is a big concern of yours I would reach out to banana boat to confirm. I purchased this so I donât have to use my expensive face mineral sunscreens on my body but shockingly this may end up being my new favorite mineral face sunscreen. It isnât drying on me personally (combo skin leaning oily) and it also wore fine under makeup. The finish is a soft satin after dried down. Iâm pretty blown away! It preformed perfect at the pool, even in humidity. I will most likely repurchase. Iâm glad to not have to repurchase the more expensive MDSolar science mineral sunscreen I was previously using on my body. I purchased with my own money no paid review! 10 out of 10 for the value and performance from me!!!

Truly Fragrance-Free, Non-Greasy, and No White Cast!
Iâm extremely sensitive to scents and hate the smell of coconut oilâso I was skeptical when I saw it listed as an ingredient. But to my surprise and relief, this Banana Boat Mineral Sunscreen is truly fragrance-free! No coconut scent whatsoever. The formula is lightweight, non-greasy, absorbs quickly into the skin, and leaves absolutely no white cast. Itâs perfect for daily use and ideal for anyone who wants reliable sun protection without the typical drawbacks of mineral sunscreens. Will definitely repurchase!

Affordable mineral sunscreen w 3% white cast
I am a fellow brown girl and i bought this to try out since it was affordable and claimed to be creamy and blend in. I will say for comparison to the cooperton kid 50 spf sunscreen this one beats that- it is because this one is creamy and doesnât leave my hands dry like the coolerton one did, it doesnât leave much of a white cast at all if you blend it properly or layer it. Itâs affordable for the oz AND itâs good spf range while being reef safe too. So far so good 6/7/25

I really love this! It blends in completely, doesnât leave a white cast, and doesnât make me greasy. I apply it before I put makeup on and Iâm definitely a fan. Itâs a large tube for $10. It is unscented and very effective. Iâve tried so many other brands and they give you a small amount for a higher price. I will buy this again.

New formula No white cast and blends perfectly matte
Iâve been using the original Sensitive Mineral and yes it leaves a white cast but itâs thick and mineral and I love it. I would put moisturizer, primer and foundation and my rest of my makeup over it with no issues. But this new Mineral Formula is nothing like original. Itâs clear and smoothed very easy. But it burned. Whatever theyâre using it burned my skin & original sensitive did not burn my skin.The new formula dries semi matte and doesnât leave no greasy or oily feel which I love. I donât like sunblocks that are designed for face but are greasy, this is perfect and not greasy. But something burned. I will continue to use and see if my skin adjust since I love the finish of this new formula. Just hope it stops burning eventually. Iâm hoping my skin is just sensitive and will adjust.

Light, not oily or tacky, minimal smell
Since having kids, I have only used mineral sunscreen on them. This is an amazing one. It goes on even, the white streaks are minimal, and most importantly, it doesn’t feel OILY! That is my biggest qualm with most sunscreens – yes, even mineral ones that claim they aren’t. This one truly isn’t oily or tacky. It does have a smell (what sunscreen doesn’t?) but it isn’t an overwhelming artificial smell that’s like coconutty.

The BEST of all mineral sunscreens Iâve tried! Iâve gone through sunscreen after sunscreen and the long standing issue with the mineral type is the white cast and needing massive globs just to cover one area. THIS banana boat is magic! Rubs in so smooth and a little goes a long way! Does not leave a white cast. Also, big bonus points for being fragrance free. I have ordered three and made my mom a lifelong customer as well. YAY banana boat!
