Customers say
Customers find this shampoo effective, with one noting it works as well as expensive name brands, and they appreciate its large bottle size for the price. The product helps control flakes and itching, inhibits dandruff, and serves as a great T/Gel replacement. While the shampoo cleans well and stays effective for a week, some customers report it has an awful smell.

Very effective for itching and flakes
This shampoo is great, it’s very effective. I get psoriasis flare-up on my scalp and had bad one. I felt relief after one use and less flakes. I use it a couple times a week to keep my scalp in good shape. It does smell but i don’t find the scent lingers especially if you use another shampoo after.

Great Shampoo at a great price. Glad Amazon brought it back
Amazon finally brought this shampoo back after several years. This works great and is identical to T-Gel but without their price gouging prices. My guess is that it comes out of the same factory like so many products do now. For those who complain it smells bad…get over it all Tar shampoos smell the same way. For those who complain it has cancer causing content…get over it almost every Tar based shampoo says the same thing or they hide it. Tar is petroleum based and therefore the warning and smell. After you use it and rinse it out the smell is gone and you will stay dandruff free for days. And for those who complain about the dyes, get over it, the amounts are so minute you have more in your morning cereal than this shampoo and you eat that. My guess is the negative reviews are from T-Gel related people trying to save their price gouging prices. We highly recommend this shampoo and use it on a regular basis and it works GREAT. A quarter size amount gives you more lather than you need. Before complaining use it a few day and you’ll see real results equal to or better than T-Gel for only pennies.

No more visible inflamed patches along hairline
This stuff works. Yes the scent is very strong and even after washing with scented shampoo afterwards you’ll still be able to pickup on the scent of it from up close but honestly it’s worth it for me because nothing had worked before and finally I barely have dandruff!! and after reading through many reviews I use jojoba oil on my scalp an hour before washing so maybe that’s helped too. I used to have so much dandruff patches caked onto the edges of my hairline it was very visible and hard to hide/embarrassing and it’s gone after just a couple uses!!!

T-Gel alternative but with less effectiveness.
Well the saddest day was finding out that T-Gel discontinued their shampoo. I stumbled upon these in my quest to find an alternative. It smells the same, it’s cheaper, it lather’s up better and it sort of does what the T-Gel version did? It helps with my itchy scalp but not as effectively as T-Gel did or maybe not as immediately. I can’t fault the product too much and would have to compare ingredients to see how different they are but as the only option I could find for a reasonable price this is a good product.

dandruff shampoo
This shampoo seems to be of equal quality and effectiveness as the name brand at a much lower price.

great for build up!!
helps with my psoriasis build up a lot!! the shampoo is very lather-able! it doesnât help much with my itching but definitely helps with flaking! the bottle is huge and a great value for sure!! smells absolutely terrible but thatâs expected from the tar they use!!

GREAT SHAMPOO. DOES THE JOB WELL.
have been using coal tar for long time. i have seborrheic dermatitis, an this does the job. do not suffer the amount of dandruff an clumping that occurs when having this condition. i am now buying this at amazon. why? i have noticed the pricing of this on a well know brand has literally doubled in price. no way, i pay. i stay with amazon.

Strong tar smell
Tried it as comparison to T Gel. Unfortunately, the product smells very strong like tar, unlike T Gel which does not. Disappointing.
