Customers say
Customers find the thermometer accurate to within 1/2 degree and appreciate that it shows both indoor and outdoor temperatures. Moreover, the device is simple to set up and use, with a large, easy-to-read display that’s particularly suitable for older people. However, the display size receives mixed feedback – while some like the large screen, others wish it was bigger. Additionally, battery life is also mixed, with some reporting they last about a year while others say they don’t last as long. Value for money opinions are divided, with some finding it great for the price.

Works perfect for wine cooler
I have several outdoor weather stations including Ambient Weather’s newer 5000 series system and an older Acurite weather station that the rain gauge finally failed after 10 years, but that otherwise continues to operate. I have an indoor sensor for the Ambient Weather system that was discoverable by the base unit but is not picked up by the base unit when the sensor is placed in a wine refrigerator about 30 feet away, through several plaster (not sheet rock) walls, even though another AW sensor placed outdoors about 50 feet away is picked up fine. Rather than buy-and-try more Ambient Weather sensors, and having had good luck with Acurite weather stations, I bought this unit for the sole purpose of having a remote monitor for my wine refrigerator. It works perfectly. I have the sensor in the wine cooler and can pick up the signal with its base unit, even when I place the base unit right next to the Ambient Weather base station that could not pick up its own sensor.I have not yet been able to conclude which of several sensors and thermometers I have is the most accurate, but the Acurite appears to be off by a degree or 2 as compared to several others (that do not necessarily agree with others either). However, it is very consistent. Unfortunately, unlike the [vastly more expensive] AW sensors/base unit that tracks and records temp fluctuations throughout the day, this Acurite has no such capabilities except for a min/max for the day. But that’s all I really need and expecting more from such a lost cost system is unrealistic, so I’m giving this an overall rating of 5 stars, and strong recommendation.

Appearance, accuracy, durability
You can’t go wrong with an Acurite thermometer, and this is no exception! Seems to be extremely accurate and I have never had an issue with any of their products. This item works very well and is nice looking. I would definitely recommend this!

Very Easy Setup
Looks nice; sets up easy; works. Install the 4 alkaline AA batteries as described in clear directions; unit pairs itself in seconds. No need to push any button, unless want to change from F to C degrees. I placed sensor out of sun and rain about 80 ft away. My location has signal coming thru house wall to readout.Readout unit is small but numbers are large and very easy to read (easier than prior brand X unit) from ~10 feet from my reading chair. Works.

Elegant & Accurate
For me, this replaces an AcuRite unit I’ve had for many years. That unit was small but reliable and reasonably accurate, although not as accurate as the new one. The old one could be difficult to see under any lighting conditions that were not ideal, and that’s why I decided to get the new one. This new unit has larger number and is readable from a distance under most lighting conditions. In addition to the inside and outside temp readings, it maintains a history — and it cycles through this history without having to figure out any menus or buttons. I’m happy to say there are no menus or buttons except for one on the back to choose F or C and another to clear the history — nothing to do but press and hold. Then the history recording starts over. I like that the display does not bother with tenths. It shows a whole number and doesn’t waste display space on tenths. Do I really need to know whether it’s 78.2 or 78.6? I’m happy with 78! Both the display and the remote sensor have a quality feel and look like premium products. As for accuracy, I am running this next to a unit made by Ambient. The remote sensors for both are outside within a few feet of one another. The displays are inside and also within a few feet of one another. Both units display exactly the same temps consistently. There are a lot of thermometers on the market these days. I think this AcuRite unit is the best as a basic temperature indicator.

small and simple
I just wanted a small simple thermometer to let me know what the temp was outside. This one also gives me the low and high in the last ‘x’ hours which is a nice bonus. It only varies by one degree from our local airport temp and the furnace/AC thermometer. I’m very satisfied.

Works Like a Charm
Works really well so far even in the extreme below zero cold and produces results very much in line with what I see on apps across my city so I know it’s working. Very easy to just find a place outside to have it transmit and then have the indoor receptor show both outside and inside temperatures plus history.

My old digital thermometer was a pain as it had so much on the screen it was difficult to view the temperature, had a clock that had to be updated every time you changed the battery and an alarm you could inadvertently set. When the outside gauge stopped working I decided I need something simpler and choose this. Wonderful. Simply shows the outside and inside temperatures in large easy to read figures and small enough not to get in the way. [There are a couple of other discreet readings I am not interested in.] Not too difficult to get working but a bit of a pain to find a screw that was suitable for the hanger and would not slip off. You could however, easily stand on a suitable surface if required. All in all, very happy with this purchase.

Works very well. We used in our chicken coop to keep track of night temperatures and it did fine. Reciever was over 40 ft from the coop. Very pleased with this. If we were to buy again we would have bought one that does temperature and humidity which is equally important.

Great product, easy to set up. Not supported by the AcuRite app which is disappointing.

Excellent pair of devices. I chose this product because its competitors are bloated with features that I don’t need. It is clear and simple. The AA batteries shown no sign of expiring after four months. Two small quibbles are that the ‘trend’ arrows could be much larger, and 5 sets of min/max records are fiddly when it comes to resetting (they must be done individually). I’ve never needed more than ’24 hrs’ and ‘all time’ records.
