Table Top Hair Steamer
I had one of these years ago when they first came out under another brand name and I loved it! But I see years have improved this product tremendously! It was easy to put together and now the water vessel is attached instead of removable so thatâs one less thing you have to keep up with. This new one actually comes with a brush to clean the steamer. But the instructions say not to use tap or mineral water anyway or even ionized alkaline water (which is what I like to spritz on my hair sometimes). I used the purified water as the instructions indicated. I guess thatâs supposed to cut down on the mineral deposits. Anyway, my only difficulty wasnât with the device itself. It was all me. I have 32 inches of natural hair so it was a little difficult to stuff my hair under there. I had to put it up in a bun and steam the back and then turn around and steam the front. The steam quality seemed really good. It only took about 5 min. after turning it on before the water started bubbling and steam came out. I tried the ozone feature but couldnât really tell the difference other than the little light coming on. The device did drip a little bit while running but not much. Once the procedure finishes, the device shuts down on its own. Youâll have to wait until it completely cools off if you want to run it again. The heat wasnât too bad. It was hot but I didnât burn myself or anything when I stuck my hand under the hood to readjust my bun. I did notice that the base of the device got very hot while it was running.My hair actually felt soft when the process finished. It was damp so I sealed it with a little oil. The facial steaming wand was also another pleasant surprise. I saw these little squares in the package that I didnât know what they were for. Turns out if you want to do aromatherapy while you steam, you donât put your essential oils in the water. You put them on the little squares and stick them in a special slot on the wand itself! Thatâs a fantastic update! The device also comes with a white Velcro wrap to keep the heat of the steam off your ears and water from rolling down on your face and neck. I already had one of those so I didnât use it. And finally, there was a little container of facial tools to help you achieve the full spa effect! There are blackhead, whitehead, and all kinds of blemish tools and the case looks like it might be just the right size for you to add an emery board if you wanted.

Salon-Quality Conditioning at Home – Compact, Easy to Use
I picked this up specifically for the hair steamer. Years ago – before Olaplex and K18 bonding products were a thing – my colorist in NYC used to put me under a steamer with a conditioning mask to help keep my heavily highlighted blonde hair in top condition., Afterwards, my hair always felt soft and looked shiny. Iâve been a devoted Kerastase hair mask (Masquintense Nutritive for Course Hair) user for decades – which is serious conditioning on its own – but the steamer always took it to another level. So, in between highlight appointments, I would pop in for the occasional steam. When I saw this at-home version, I had to give it a try.When I first used it, I thought it might be a bust with the steam output – but hereâs the trick: fill the water reservoir all the way to the max line so that after it comes to a boil, you can let it run for 4 to 5 minutes to fill the dome with sufficient steam, and then have another 15 minutes to actually steam and condition your hair (or as directed by your mask instructions).The steam is very gentle – donât expect the intensity of a professional salon model – but it does the job nonetheless. I had considered buying a professional rolling-stand steamer, but those are big and require more storage space than I was willing to give it. Because this one is compact enough to fit into a bathroom cabinet, and is easy to set up, itâs much more likely to be used with some frequency.While itâs not a heavy duty piece of equipment, itâs well designed. Thereâs a semi-circular metal disc inside the hood, where the steam comes through, to prevent the hot steam from spitting onto your neck, and thereâs a rim around the edge of the hood to minimize dripping onto your shoulders. Having said that, I still use a towel around my neck just in case.Hereâs how I use it: I wash my hair with a moisturizing clarifying shampoo (Giovanni 50:50 Balanced) to remove any product buildup, followed by a moisturizing shampoo (I use a Japanese shampoo), rinse, and then gently dry it with a microfiber hair towel so that itâs damp, not dripping. I then apply the Kerastase mask, making sure every strand from root to end is covered. My hair is long-ish, below my shoulders, and while the strands are fine, I have lots of hair. So, I create three sections â one on each side, and one in the back – and with the mask in my hair, gently twist each section so that everything is neat and then bring each section to the top or back of my head, where I secure it all with a plastic clip. When I do this, thereâs enough room in the hood to fit all my hair. Note: Do not put a plastic cap over your hair because the steam wonât be able to penetrate.Bottom line: If your hair is looking dull, feeling brittle, or youâve been hard on it with heat styling, bleach, or color, I highly recommend investing in a good conditioning mask and this steamer. It makes a real difference – and you donât need to leave the house (or clear out closet space) to get it. Also, keep in mind that a professional steam treatment at a salon could cost you between $25 and $250 depending on the city and how extensive the treatment. When you consider the cost of a professional treatment, this is a good value. Of course, I canât speak to longevity because itâs new, but for now, Iâm happy to have a home hair steamer, and plan to use it at least twice a month.

When I saw this 2 in 1 for face and hair I just had to try it out. It was easy to assemble and easy to use. It gives off a gentle steam which makes my face so hydrated and smooth. Also leaves my hair very moisturized and soft. This steamer is good quality and doesnât take up a lot of space. I like that I can sit this one on a surface and use it.
