The best Omega 3 and Vitamin D combo IMHO
My husband and I have been ordering (and using on a daily basis) this Omega 3-Vitamin D combo for several years and have not found an equivalent on Amazon or anywhere else that compares. In well-documented historic scientific studies conducted in the 1970s, Omega 3 from fish oil has been found to help maintain normal levels of cholesterol. These studies were largely conducted in the Inuit population of Alaska & Canada, whose predominant food sources were fish and high-fat whale meat/blubber, yet despite their consumption of high amounts of fat, their cholesterol levels were within normal limits. The conclusion was that their consumption of fish (and therein the fish oil) helped mitigate the effects of fat consumption. As far as I know this conclusion has not been refuted. I am not a biochemist or scientist, but I am able to confirm that both my husbandâs and my cholesterol levels have been normal to the extent we have completely eliminated the need for any statin drugs. The caveat is that we both strength train and maintain an active lifestyle (with a healthy diet) at 64 yrs, which may play into the reasons for our lab resultsâso keep this in mind. Just taking fish oil and living sloppily may not give you the same results. Another plus of this particular brand of Omega 3 is that it does not cause the fish taste or âburpingâ commonly associated with fish oil supplements. I cannot confirmânor am I qualified to confirmâthe quality of the fish oil contained in these capsules. This is a lower price point among fish oil supplements, so perhaps the quality isnât stellar, but it has worked for us. One might question the quality of any fish on the market to consume in oneâs diet as high qualityâfarmed or fresh. As far as the vitamin D component, we have noticed in our gray, sunless NW winters, a day or two without this Vitamin D supplement will render us a little âoff kilter,â so the benefit is real. The capsule size has never been a problem to swallow. All this said, we highly recommend this particular brand and combination of Omega 3 and Vitamin D. Weâll continue to keep it in our Amazon subscription as a lifestyle requirement reported to our doctor.

Fantastic Fish Oil Option
I have been using NOW Foods Omega 3-D for several years how. The numbers of DHA and EPA are significantly higher than many other fish oil options out there on a per capsule basis. Not to mention the ocular benefit (eye health) coming from the Vitamin D3 which helps improve vision as people age and also reduced the chances of falling prey to macular degeneration, cataracts, as well as glaucoma. Highly recommended product to anyone looking for a potent fish oil option at a very reasonable price.

Higher EPA/DHA ratios and vitamin D than that of Now Ultra Omega-3 which does not contain vitamin D.

The product delievered to me had a sticker over the “ultra omega-3 fish oil” label with “Ultra Vitamin D-3..” However it did not contain Vitamin D. I hope this was an honest mistake but it was extraodinarily frustrating for me to receive the incorrect item and have it misleabled, which at best was a mistake and at worst decptive labeling practices.
