Fair question! And yes, hydrocolloid Pimple Patches work by creating a protective environment that allows your skin to function more efficiently.

How does a pimple patch work? What do pimple patches do?
Hydrocolloid Pimple Patches absorb oil, pus, and impurities from pimples, creating a moist environment that assists the skin. They act as a barrier and stop picking, which helps reduce the risk of scarring or breakouts.
How long to leave pimple patch on? How long do pimple patches take to work?
Good question! We recommend from 6 to 8 hours, but it definitely depends on a person’s skin type. Best practice is to replace patch as necessary, i.e. the patch turns white!
Why do pimple patches turn white?
The white stuff on pimple patches isn’t pus, oils, or dirt. It’s actually the hydrated hydrocolloid dressing. The patch turns white as it absorbs moisture from the skin. With this clarified, let’s move on to a better skin care practice with acne patch!
How do I use pimple patch?
We often get asked a question like “Do you put pimple patches on before or after moisturizer?”.
Don’t worry! here are 3 easy steps:
1. Apply and complete your skincare routine. 2. Wait AT LEAST 30 minutes until your skincare product absorbs into your skin
3. Wipe off the area that the Pimple Patches will go, and then apply the hydrocolloid patch.
Why aren’t my patches sticking, but falling off?
Wet or oily skin creates a slippery barrier, preventing the patch from sticking properly. Please apply pimple patches to clean, dry skin in your skincare routine.
What to do after removing pimple patch?
1. After removing a pimple patch, gently cleanse the area to remove any residue.
2. Apply a soothing toner or moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. If needed, use a spot solution to prevent breakouts.
Can you put makeup over a pimple patch
Definitely! Our hydrocolloid is thin and non-yellowing. Put make-up over a patch and get your acne un-noticed!
Do pimple patches work on cysts (or unpopped, blind pimples)?
Different types of pimple patch serve different purposes: our Acne Cover Patch works best for surface-level acne (whitehead). For cystic acne, check out Avarelle’s Spot Tech !
Do pimple patches work on ingrown hairs? Do pimple patches work on mosquito bites or cold sores?
Afraid not. It may draw out some fluid, but not any hair out of ingrown hair.
For mosquito bite, yup, definitely not!
For cold sores, pimple patches may not stick well to the moist surface of cold sores, making them not an ideal option.

Nice and Sticky
This came with a generous amount of patches and feels like a great value for the price. I was pleasantly surprised by how many were included and the variety of sizes. It makes it really easy to treat different types of spots.I do wish the smallest size was just a little bigger. That said, the adhesive on all of them is impressive. These patches stick really well. Iâve worn them overnight multiple times, and they stay right where I put them.I originally bought them for acne, but Iâve found theyâre also super effective on bug bites. They help protect the area and reduce irritation, and I love knowing theyâre staying in place even while I sleep or go about my day.Pros:â Comes with a lot of patchesâ Includes a variety of sizesâ Sticks extremely well, even overnightâ Works on acne and bug bitesCons:â Smallest patch is very tiny, and a slightly larger small option would be more useful

I would probably not even know this type of product even exists if I hadn’t received 2 student brands in my various beauty sub boxes because luckily, acne m/pimples have never been a big worry for me even at 16yrs of age, even less so now that I’m 41yrs old. But I do still get a surprise pimple or a surprise patch of pimples sometimes during my time of the month, and of course having to wear a mask everywhere is not helping any. The first time I tried A Pimple patch, I had received a 8pc sample pack of the Corsx brand and I was over the moon. Then, I received a sample of the Avarelle, all 3 sizes and the second I agreed one to my face I already viewed it as a superior product in my opinion. Thankfully, ecru when I do have to contend with a blemish, they are small and minor enough that it only takes 1 6-8hr application of one of these patches and *POOF* I remove the patch to find it all but disappeared, if anything there’s nasty be a small spot barely visible that liners for one more day. The reason this brand exceeds any other in my opinion is 1)Most times I first become aware of a pimple in the morning and these patches are true to their claims… The actual patches are so thin and clear when applied to clean skin that it is virtually invisible(sometimes if it catches light at a certain angle it will be slightly noticeable for a moment), but I’ve learned to fix this by covering it with a very light layer of makeup if I’m wearing any that day. This feature in itself is a selling point because now not only is my blemish invisible, it’s also being treated as soon as it’s noticed. With the other brand, the patch was not clear, nor was it thin enough to be unnoticeable, so I would only apply them overnight and sometimes that world be irritating if for example, my pimple accidentally popped over the daytime or morphed into a whole new deal. And just because these ones are in fact very thin, does not mean they are any less effective or adhesive. I make sure after I peel the patch off it’s base, It’s normally stuck right on my fingertip… I just make sure it’s centered exactly whet I want it, then lay it down on its center and just press down around the edges to make sure it’s sealed.. And it always is. And I mean airtight sealed… Even if I don’t apply makeup, I still have a strict skin care routine to perform and nothing gets undernearh or affects the adhesiveness, and I use Toner, Essence, Ampoule, Serums, Moisturizer, SPF, etc. Also, these patches come in 3 different sizes which for me is a huge benefit… Most specifically, the extra large sized ones. On those occasions when I get a little cluster of a breakout, the blemishes are always very close together and usually 1 of the Xtra large patches is big enough to eradicate the whole cluster instead of having to use separate patches on each individual pimple. And last but not least, the Averalle patches have not let me down yet…. Whether I end up applying for a day or for a night, when I remove them, my problem is all but gone and that’s a very big deal to me considering I’m a fanatic about my skin care and put a lot of time into it over the years so that even though I’m 41yrs old… No one ever believes me when I first tell them my age. I only buy full size products of smokes received if they seriously impress me which these obviously do. (in the attached picture, the open packet is what’s led of the sample I received, the full sized one I purchased isn’t open yet)

Good size and quality for the price. Patches stick on well and you can see the white gunk that comes out overnight. They have no smell and they leave the pimple flat and not inflamed or red. I purchased a different version with tea tree and other things in it and it does not pull the gunk out or leave pimple flat. Iâll definitely be putting in an order for these for a 3rd time. Each set lasts me about a year.

I’ve been ordering these for years at this point – they are hands down the best acne stickers I have ever used. Every once in a while amazon will suggest similar stickers by different brands but each time I branch out and try a different one I always end up right back here, buying these instead. I have tried quite a few different suppliers through amazon and honestly, none have compared to Avarelle.One of my favorite things about Avarelle’s stickers is that they are so useful even when I’m not in “I need this zit gone yesterday” crisis mode; I can appear to be totally clear-skinned but pop a few on my problem areas before bed and in the morning they are completely saturated with whatever evil gunk was accumulating under the surface, waiting to strike. It’s easy to become lax in my skincare routine when my skin seems to be doing okay, but even when it feels like smooth sailing it is so worth it to use these prophylactically because a) they prevent the obnoxious breakouts I am prone to and b) they show me how clean my skin actually is.Also, something I hate the most about my skin is how easily it becomes discolored by acne – each zit leaves behind red, sensitive skin, that I have applied oodles of moisturizer and scar gels to with no real results. I semi-recently started laying these stickers down on these areas with the specific intention of seeing if they could heal these spots as well as they heal acne – and impressively enough, they do! They won’t completely disappear a scar over night, but the angry red areas of skin noticeably lighten. Everyone’s skin is different, but to me I noticed right away that the discoloration had improved, and then with time it disappeared. Sort of like when you lose weight and a lot comes off at first because the first few pounds are easy, but then persistence and time will help you shed the stubborn stuff.A lot of people search for and talk about “holy grail” products, and for me, this is it. Using these stickers is so incredibly easy and requires such little effort for such impressive results, that I’m pretty sure I’ll be buying them until the day I die. Pop a few of these babies on me if my going away party is open-casket so I can look my best.(that was dark, sorry)Anyways, as a note I want to add – the XL squares are actually super duper useful too; I cut them into whatever size/shape I need for a specific area, whether I’m trying to cover my full forehead just to see what it can drag out of my skin (but without losing any precious eyebrows to a sticker that’s a bit too large), or creating a larger sticker for a particularly aggressive, level 10, boss zit.Okay that’s all! I’ve been meaning to leave this review for so long now, I’m just the worst at getting around to reviewing products.

These are the only ones I’ve tried that actually work. But they only work on the pimples that are ready to pop. I put them on overnight and in the morning it’s sucked all the white gunk out of them and the pimples are flat and heal pretty quickly. Also love that there are 3 different sizes of patches for different size acne spots. Would recommend these for sure
