I have a pixie cut with a few gray strands, but my natural hair color is dark brown. Buying an entire box of hair dye is a waste for my needs. Instead, I use this particular shampoo, which works perfectly for me. Although it can dry my hair a little, I follow up with a hydrating conditioner to moisturize it. Importantly***, it does not thin my hair or cause it to fall out. I use this shampoo every 2 to 3 weeks for about 20-25 minutes. DO NOT SKIP WEARING GLOVES when applying it, it may not look like it is staining, but it will, and massage the product thoroughly for even coverage.

Grays gone
My grays were getting out of hand framing my face. Decided to give this a try and it works well. Last time I tried box hair dyes it splattered and stained my bathroom cabinets. This is so much easier to use and came with ear covers. Never going back to boxed hair dyes.

I read through all the reviews and was skeptical it would work but bought it anyway. It delivered yesterday. Immediately put it in. Back story: I’ve been coloring my hair the darkest brown (basically black without the blue hue) for the last 20 years. At this stage of life, the grays are starting to show in 3 days. By two weeks, have a straight line almost 1/4 inch thick of solid gray line of root growth throughout most of my head (at least what I can see). Yesterday, I was at the two week mark. I applied a generous amount onto dry hair. Massaged it into my roots for 3 to 4 minutes (could of been 5). Let it sit for 25 mins. Took a shower. In the shower, lathered and scrubbed for a few minutes. Washed out. Conditioned as usual. Results: Whoa, it completely covered my roots. Things I noticed that you should know.1) The smell was really not bad especially not as bad as many reviewers have stated. This smells like fresh flowers compared to actual hair dye. Seriously, I think it actually smells pretty good.2) A drop managed to fall on my white sink. Noticed it 25 minutes later when I came back to shower.Washed right off without leaving a stain.3) White tile shower is not stained with black dye (not even a little)4) I DO NOT HAVE A STAINED FOREHEAD EDGE from hair dye (this is huge for me)I don’t know what it will look like in a few days. If the color will wash off or lighten. But, honestly, I don’t care if it does. This was so easy to do with no mess. I would do it every 3 days if need be and wouldn’t feel like a chore as coloring with hair dye does. 10 10 recommended this to anyone with black hair. Total game changer!Update as of September 2024:Still love it! Iâm on my 2nd bottle. Use it every 1.5 to 2.5 weeks. Covers all my grays and doesnât fade. I even got a compliment on my color the other day from a hair stylist. She said my color is gorgeous and she was so surprised that the ends of my hair werenât faded. She even asked if I went outside at all during the summer because she couldnât believe it lol. I only color my roots but guess when rinsing out it gives a little extra love to the ends. The only change I made is that I donât message it in as much. Just apply and rub it in at that moment. Move to the next section. Repeat. Do my hairline again. Wait 25 to 30 mins. Shower. It does dry my hair a bit which also happened when I used regular dye so itâs no biggie. Just skip washing my hair an extra day.

Pros and cons of this shampoo
I’ve been coloring my hair since I was 15 when I started getting grey hair. I have dry scalp issues so my scalp can get sensitive. When I first put this on I did feel a little bit of a sting but not like when I color with dye.Pros: I like how it doesn’t stain like most coloring does. I dropped some on my white sink and quickly wiped it. It didn’t stain and wiped away without issue. I also got some on my wrist but once again it wiped away without issue.Cons: I did notice that instead of dark brown it looked more like a burgundy color. I have dark brown hair with white so I just wanted to use this as a root touch up. But now I have red brown roots with dark brown hair. I went back and redid it but now my hair just looked weird with lots of red high lights. I also was my hair like every other day but use conditioner everyday. I noticed each day the color has gotten lighter so it’s like it’s washing out faster than reg dye.It might just be my type of hair but I read the reviews and decided to try it. I did and I guess I’ll try others to see if the color might work better.

Wow! This really works. After reading all the reviews I went ahead and purchased. Does it smell funky? Yes! It’s hair dye. It stains your skin just like regular dye. I just needed to do the hair around my face, it’s were most of my grays are. I had done a whole head dye with my regular dye about a month ago. My bangs always get lighter quicker than the rest of my head. Used the shampoo dye, Left it on for 25 mins. Rinsed. Showed with shampoo the next day. It looks great! It worked how I was hoping it would! Will definitely buy again!
