The shave is as good as with my razor without the blood
I haven’t done a review in a while, but I thought this might help someone. I have been using razors now for most of my life and I am 68 years old. I tried an electric years ago and felt it didn’t work. Unfortunately, I am now on blood thinners, and every time I cut my face I end up looking like a mummy. I thought I would try an electric, but I was concerned that it would not be the same close shave that I like with the razor. The reviews suggested even consumer reports that this razor was the best and that a foil razor as opposed to the electric with the rotating heads are the ones you want for close shave. First, when you open the box, the directions are the kind they have on airplanes with pictures, but they’re worthless. It’s pretty intuitive, but I thought there was a charging station. Thankfully, I called the help desk and you instantly get someone who helps you and they tell you that the razor cleaning machine is also what charges it. I showed a picture below.You press the button on the side of the cleaning mechanism and then pull the bottom down, and it allows you to slide the alcohol containing cleaning fluid container -just look to see where the cutout is, and it only goes in one way. You have to pull off the cap of the container to allow the fluid to get out.The razor comes with a very nice case which is also a charging battery itself so therefore you could just take the charged case on a trip unless you’re gone for a long period of timeSo it charges easily and it cleans easily. You just put it in the same way upside down and you push the button on the top and it starts a self cleaning cycle. You’re supposed to use it after each shave . You can buy the cleaning fluid from Amazon or from EMBRACE which is the vendor that Braun uses.But here’s the kicker the shave result is as good if not better than my razor.I did not get this for free. I have no financial incentive and I haven’t done a review in a while. I was grateful to the people who did other reviews to push me over to buy this.. it is pricey at about $300 but razors and shaving cream are not cheap overtime eitherAnd I’m not going to look like a bloody messSo if your main concern is the closeness of the shave, this is a whole other level of razor compared to the one I tried years ago.The Braun is rated highest I believe by consumer reports and everywhere else I looked. I bought the typical electric shave alcohol pre-treatment.. I’m sure there’s other more sophisticated things you could use.Bottom line if you want to switch and you want a close shave without cutting your face off, especially if you’re on blood thinners like I am- you will be pleasantly surprisedI hope this helps..

THE VERY BEST shaver THERE IS
This is the smoothest and best electric, wet or dry shaved. Period.I was a 5 year âbest model â Norelco user, then a 20- year Panasonic (successive) top models devotee. The Braun 9-pro is another level of smooth, quiet, efficient and quick. Itâs a big step up.Personally, I prefer wet shaves (Dollar Shave Clubs Shave Butter is perfect); but when I travel I always shave dry (skin prep is Old Ronâs unscented pre shave).The included charging travel case is a very big plus. Yes, thanks the razor get me through 3 weeks easily, and I have a heavy beard.Pricey? Yup. But well worth the bucks!

A really great razor
I typically donât write reviews, but feel compelled to write one for this razor. Iâm 66 years old have very sensitive skin that is easily cut and a beard like a bristle brush. I cannot use a blade because it will cut my face to pieces. Iâve tried Remmington, Norelco, and Panasonic, but none of them shave like this Braun razor. I typically have to go back-and-forth over my face dozens of times with those other razors and I still have some stubble. With the Braun, I am done shaving in about two minutes. Simply amazing! I didnât think it was possible. I canât say that youâll have the same success because I think we all have different skin and beards, but Iâve never found anything like this. On top of it, I am very lazy at cleaning my razor. This cleaning stand is so simple. When Iâm done shaving, which is every two days typically I pop it in the cleaning stand push the button and itâs clean and ready to go next time. Very simple. The only downside to this razor is the absolutely ridiculous manual that everyone else talks about. They might as well not even put the thing in with the razor. Google it or use ChatGPT to try to find something that tells you how to use this thing. Kind of crazy to have such an amazing razor and a ridiculous manual. Obviously the cost is very high and unaffordable for a lot of people. That is unfortunate, but in my case, it has been worth the money.

Husband says not as close as razor and shaving cream.
Husband is trying it out now for a few weeks. He always used shaving cream and regular razor. He doesn’t think it gets as close as the razor. I felt his cheeks and some places ok, and others feel the stubbles. He says it is faster. Saves buying blades, shaving cream, and waiting for the water to get hot! So hope he learns to like it. Expensive tho!

Like others, I broke down and spent a fortune on this razor and I’m glad I did. The best electric shave I’ve ever had. I have a weird beard where the hairs on my neck lay flat, so I also use Williams Lectric Shave to help these hairs stand up. The combo of the razor and pre-shave lotion make for a close and comfortable shave.Here’s something I didn’t expect. I use a Wahl electric hair clippers to shave my head. I used to use a blade and cream to shave it but it was just too much of a hassle to shave so often, so changed to the Wahl. For kicks, I tried the Braun on my head and was blown away – it actually works better on my head than my face. I surprised I didn’t see other reviews touting this feature. I’m now able to shave my head every other day (same as I do my face) and it’s very easy and I love the results.In my opinion, you do get what you pay for…

Very close shave, holds the charge well, excellent product
I would give this higher than 5 stars if I could. I have owned several electric shavers, and the biggest problem was that they had difficulty giving a truly close shave without multiple passes with the unit, and even then, it was not as close as a razor. This one dispels that pattern and will give you close to a razor feel with the first pass. Works very well and is a quality product. Easy to clean and holds a charge well.

I was very cautious about spending silly money on a razor: but after years of not getting a great shave from the different and advanced Philishaves that I bought, I did so.This razor is excellent at shaving: I am quite surprised at just how good it is. The cleaning technology (electronic controlled) is somewhat wacky, but never mind. A great close shave – as good as wet.

I replaced my rotary shaver with some trepidation after 40 years, but have found this provides a closer shave, and more thorough. I travel less than I did formerly but the recharging travel case allows several weeks use if the cord is left behind, and the alcohol based cleaning system appears to do a much better job than the previous aqueous one, and is more likley to sterilise the foils and heads.
