Product is not IPL, does not work.
I have a Braun Silk Expert Pro 5 that I love. It’s usually fairly painless unless I hit a mole or certain places along my bikini line. It’s strong enough to actually remove moles with a couple of passes, but it certainly does not feel good (like a hot rubber band). It is very effective. I’ve also had IPL done professionally on my face for sun damage. It’s painful. The home devices are obviously less powerful than the pro versions, but you still know it when you hit a dark spot, since IPL targets brown and red pigmentation.This device? I don’t know what it is, but there is nothing more than flashes of light coming out of it (and not the right ones). After I did half of my leg, I got suspicious and tested on a mole (I know, I shouldn’t do that). Ten flashes later on the highest power setting and nothing. This thing does absolutely nothing. With my Braun, I know it if I hit a mole even once. Twice and it’s usually a burnt crisp that flakes off later. I don’t know what the other reviewers are talking about… I tested it on a variety of darker spots that should have zapped me big time and felt absolutely nothing. And ten minutes later, there’s no warmth, no irritation, no burnt pigment (gross, I know, but it’s what IPL does).This item was not damaged, it was not previously used, it charged perfectly, it turned on perfectly, the fan fired up perfectly, it’s easy to adjust, the cooling worked perfectly (I wish my Braun had this!), everything is perfect…except that it’s not IPL, or IF it is, it’s so weak that it will not work even on my super fair skin with medium-dark hair (and the moles I tested it on are very dark).It’s a huge amount of money for most people in this economy to be wasting on a bogus product like this. Buyer beware.

An unusual CORDLESS IPL gun with ICE, model IPL-008
Take a look at the pictures I’ve attached. Notice anything surprising?This IPL is cordless! I have tested well over a hundred IPL devices over the years, and this is only the second one I’ve ever encountered that’s cordless. It’s powered by a 2600mAh LiIon battery, which is rated for 50 50-minute run time. You can also run this with a cord attached, and a 48W power supply is included.Being able to use this without a cord is freeing in terms of experience. That’s a major bonus. On the downside, flashing isn’t as fast as the very best top-end models (e.g. Braun), and the power output seems lower than some of the higher energy devices. So there’s a trade off of ergonomics vs. performance. And where you’ll fall on that scale will be a personal choice.This device also features “ICE” cooling.A full list of the specifics of this IPL kit** Cordless or corded operation** 2600 mAh LiIon battery. 3 hours charge for 50 minutes use (rated).** Only performs hair removal** Includes ICE skin cooling functionality** LCD screen shows the number of flashes left and power level (1-5)** Preferable convenient “Gun” shaped unit** Rated for 999,999 flashesOperation is performed via capacitance buttons on the LCD display.Using very slow-motion photography, I was able to capture a ~1/100th second snapshot of the light (see photos).You run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair and make sure you expose all the hair follicles in that region. You will not see any immediate results. The light signals your hair to stop growing, but it requires multiple treatments over several weeks before you will be expected to see results. Eventually, you should find a substantial reduction in the hair in the treated areas.In the box, you get the tool, a power cord, a pair of eye protection glasses, a cheap disposable razor, plus instructions.Ice functionality is another term for “Local epidermal cooling” and is rarely described in sufficient detail in listings, so I’ll fill you in here. This is local cooling of the epidermal region (surface skin) in the region where the IPL light pulse is being applied. The high-powered light can be irritating to some people, and cooling the skin in that region can reduce the immediate irritation. (It does not improve/decrease efficacy of the treatment). This cooling effect is achieved via a Peltier junction semiconductor and a good thermoconducting material at the head of the IPL device (frequently sapphire or aluminum) that transmits the cold that the semiconductor generates to the skin. (A heatsink and fan inside the IPL device remove the heat that the Peltier junction also produces).Epidermal cooling is not required for efficient use, but it may make it less unpleasant to use the device for some users.Overall, the big star here is the cordless operation. Beyond this, this is a pretty standard IPL+ICE device. Given the wireless operation, the price is reasonable. It’s not the cheapest IPL with ICE you can find, more like mid-priced, but the cordless operation is a significant differentiator. I couldn’t test it specifically, but it does seem that the flash power here isn’t as strong as with some corded models, so you’ll need to decide whether that’s an acceptable tradeoff.Pros:** Wireless or wired operation** Gun shaped** Integrates epidermal cooling (ICE)** LCD readout** Mid-range power supply (48W)Cons:** Not the cheapest IPL + ICE device you can buy

Extensive Session and charge
Have had to use it 2x a day for 2 months before starting to notice difference needs to be charged after every use takes too long for light to charge after each zap sessions take anywhere from 45 min to 1.25 hours
