Fairly accurate temp readings, calibrated using ice bath
I wanted to see how accurate this digital thermometer was so i calibrated using a ice bath. One of the digital thermometer measured 33.2 F (assuming 32 F for the ice bath). This is fairly accurate since it is +/- 1 off. The other thermometer measured a bit higher (33.7) so they are not the same but close. My el cheapo analog thermometer from APi is more accurate in terms of the ice bath at 32F. But all good since it is within tolerance.

Great Price and Works well
Great Price and Accurate temperature! Wasnât sure if my dial tank heater was heating accurately, so I got this two pack and they confirmed my suspicions that temperature was too high in my tank!Suction cup makes it easy to stick to the side of the tank for easy viewing! Works in both Fahrenheit in Celsius. Very reliable.

Nice digital thermometers for the price
These digital thermometers are nice for the price paid. They are very compact and easy to read. The only thing I noticed is that it is one degree off, other than that, pretty good and useful for aquarium temperature monitoring.

Cheap and effective.
Don’t plan to use the suction cups if you’re putting it in the sand boas habitat. They pushed them right off the bottom of the floor that you hoped they would stay suctioned to. Otherwise they work great I just have to put them back in the spot I want to register the temperature for. However, I always have a ballpark temperature for directly under the basking lamp and I at least know that there is a place in my habitat that is at a reasonable temperature, even if the boas have pushed it out of the basking hot zone. They are reasonably well calibrated. When I switched probes from tank to tank, the temperature only varied by a fraction of a degree implying that both the heat lamps and the temperature probes were functioning properly.

Crazy readings, added these to my collection.
These show different readings from all my digital heater so I run 5 and get an average 2 digital, the heater itself and two manual thermometers. I have Trust issues thinking one or more have been made by you know.

Decent for the Price, But Relatively Short-Lived
This thermometer is affordable and worked well for about 9 months, giving quick and accurate readings. However, after that, it started becoming very inaccurateâoff by about 20 degreesâwhich made it unreliable for monitoring tank temperatures. For the price, having 2 was convenient and itâs not a bad purchase if you need something for short-term or casual use. I would consider buying it again for less critical purposes, but I wouldnât recommend it for anything requiring long-term reliability or accuracy.

Important verification of water temperature
My aquariums hold Sea Monkeys (R) and Giant Triops (tadpole shrimp). The main tank is freshwater. The thermometers helped me setup the hatching tanks and the main tank. Shrimp eggs hatch quicker when the water, light, and temperature is correct. Since the heaters don’t display the water temperature, the thermometers showed how quickly the temperature changed. One unit had a bad suction cup. A deformity kept it from sticking to the tank. Fortunately, a paperclip might work.Seventy-eight degrees is important for life. Make sure your plants and animals are comfortable, too.
