How to use the dermaroller
Clean your face thoroughly with a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser
Test it on the back of your hand so you can get a feel for the right pressure
Before you start rolling, divide the face into four segments and start working on each segment.
Roll 4 to 5 times in one direction depending on your skin tolerance and sensitivity, making sure to lift the roller after each pass (preferably). So roll in one direction, lift, and repeat.
After rolling in the same spot 4 to 5 times, adjust the dermaroller slightly and repeat. Do this until you have covered the entire area of skin you want to treat.
After rolling in one direction, it’s time to go over the area you just rolled again and repeat the process in the perpendicular direction.

Works as expected
This is a nice little tool to try if you are newer to microneedling, as it is not too sharp of a needle. I found it to be quite stimulating and did experience some redness but that went away by the next morning.

Hard to Clean
This microneedling tool is one step up from the smallest length offered by this brand. I’m not sure that it has a high level of efficacy, but for someone who’s newer to micro-needling, it’s helpful to progress up to longer needles. It came in a sealed pouch which eliminates any concern of the product being used and returned. I think that’s very important and even the instructions say not to share them.I gave it 3 stars because you are supposed to sterilize the needle roller before using (and really should after using). This is a challenge because you aren’t supposed to set the roller on any surface because the needles can be damaged. With the design of this tool, there is zero way to put this in any type of sterilizing solution without having it sit on the needles or having a giant container where the roller goes in with the handle at the bottom. I didn’t have anything tall enough to submerge the roller with it at the top. I resulted in coating it with an anti-microbial soap and rinsing it for a bit in super hot water.I think they could redesign the packaging where the insert in the storage case was built in a way that could be submerged into a liquid for sterilizing. It would be helpful.This needle length doesn’t go very deep into the skin surface (there is no blood so don’t freak out with the instructions), and it says to use it like every 5-7 weeks. I think true results are only seen with a deeper needle length, so good to research it before you buy.

It was bent when I got it.
The construction quality was pretty poor. When I received it, some of the tines were bent, so when I tried to use it, it drew more blood than I think they expected. It was fine and did provide some soothing for my beard, but overall, it was a C experience.

Boolavard Derma Roller Microneedle Roller
I love micro needling and use a derma roller regularly. I replace them every 8-10 uses so I have tried several different brands. This particular derma roller is cheapy made. The handle is a light plastic. The wheel squeaks. The wheel consists of plates with ‘needles’ at the end as oppose to a derma roller with individual needles. This die-cut way of making the ‘needles’ can cause them to be uneven as they are on the one I received. Does it work – Yes. Will it create channels in the skin for product to get down deeper? Yes. Is it worth it to spend the extra money on a better quality derma-roller and not risk damaging the skin? Yes.
