Great way to monitor the chicken coop
We got new chickens recently and this time of year they sometimes need a heater on at night until their full feathers come in. This saves us from having to walk out there several times to check the coop temp.Itâs only about 200â from the house but the connection has been great everywhere in the house except when it got put on the far side of the refrigerator. I guess asking it to go through the fridge, through the house, 200â to the coop, and then through the metal and wood building was too much. As soon as it was taken off that side of the fridge though it reconnected without us having to do anything but give it a better view.Itâs currently magnetized on the metalback door and working great.Weâve for other thermometers and such from this brand and theyâre all been high quality so I was glad to find this cheap and easy solution and recommend it if you need to monitor just outdoor temps or a coop or something like we have.

Seems to work well
I have 4 different outdoor thermometers placed in different places in my yard. Thermometers that are too close to the house or patio or other paved surfaces show abnormally high readings compared to those away from surfaces that hold heat.This thermometer is out in the yard and is shaded from direct sunlight. I think it may be the most accurate of the lot.

Only one criticism; I’m using 2 external sensors (device allows up to 3 to be attached) but the base station rotates display around all three possible sensors displaying one of them as a blank. Would be better if rotating display function only displayed number of sensors actually attached.Hygrometer function much more accurate than a previous unit I had from a different manufacturer

Cannot recommend, basically doesn’t work through any kind of glass or walls. The pictures show these remote sensors placed around a house, but I’ve tried just putting them on the other side of a wall and that does not work at all.But they don’t disconnect immediately (show dashes “–” on the screen), instead what happens is that the last temp/humidity reading received is displayed for hours. So you can look at the screen thinking it’s still connected but it’s giving a completely wrong reading because the reading is out of date.Totally useless, I would return but apparently it is not allowed by the policy!

On comparison with other Thermopro thermometers, readings were almost the same. Also accuracy with other quality brands was good.Two are outside under eaves shelter, one suspended under solar panel shade to avoid radiant heat but measure air temp.
