Does what it’s supposed to. Just a pain to use.
I suffer from debilitating dry eye caused by blepharitis, and was excited to try this. The product box is all in Chinese, but the user manual is in English. The steamer itself is high-quality, solid, durable, and well-constructed. The eye cup is soft. The mist it puts out is very fine, and it offers three levels of concentration. It also offers three levels of heating, and on high, it’s a decently hot temperature. Each function has a status light that lights up in green, blue and red to show the setting is on. This is all extremely cool, and a 5-star product, on paper. The problem is that it’s a pain in the butt to use. Having to hold this device up to your eye for 5-10 minutes to get a decent length of time for dry-eye therapy is tiring. And then you have to do it again for the other eye. The suction cup is nice, but it fills up with water in seconds, and then drips down your face the entire time, so you have to use it standing over the sink or bathtub. I think something like googles that you could wear that does both eyes at once and doesn’t require you to hold it would be infinitely better. But obviously, that’s a completely different product. I think this one definitely has it’s use as an eye wash, say if you have itchy allergy eyes or something in your eye and want to wash it out, or as a mister, if you have liquid facial products you want to mist on your face. I’m just not sure about it’s use for dry eye therapy.

Somehow, it produces way more mist than you’d expect from the amount of liquid added. The tank is oversized compared to others Iâve used, and while you donât need nearly that much liquid for a full treatment, the light indicator showing how much fluid is left is genuinely useful for knowing when and how much more solution to add.âââ[MIST MODES & REFRESH EFFECT]: Most similar devices tend to offer two settings: a constant mist and a pulsing mist. Iâve always found the pulsing mode helpful because my eyes tend to tune out the sensation of mist after a few seconds, making it feel like nothingâs happening. That brief pause between bursts acts like a little refresh, keeping the effect noticeable and soothing. This unit doesnât offer pulsing, but instead has three continuous mist settings that vary in intensity: low, medium, and high. I donât desensitize to the strongest setting as quickly with this one, but if I do start to, I just loosen the cup briefly to break the seal and it resets the sensation.âââ[MISC. NOTES ON USE]:⢠The silicone cup is reversible, so you can use it comfortably on either eyeâor straight up and down, depending on what feels best.⢠It can get a little messy. Your eye will release liquid and debris during use, and youâll want something handy to catch any drips.⢠You want to remove your eye makeup before using this, as it would get quite messy and cause potential eye irritation otherwiseâhowever, Iâve unexpectedly found it great for removing any residual mascara or lash adhesive that makeup remover misses.âââ[SOOTHING EFFECT]: If steaming your eyeball sounds terrifying, I get it. I was wary at first, too. But the mist is incredibly gentle, and even on the highest heat setting, it just feels so calming and soothing. My eyeball literally relaxes as soon as the heat kicks in, which made me realize how tense they actually were. It helps flush out built-up gunk and rehydrates my contacts instantly. My vision is noticeably better after using it, and itâs just as soothing on bare eyes. Even without the heat turned on, the cool mist alone feels really refreshingâespecially first thing in the morning when Iâm going through my perk-me-up routines.âââ[BATTERY LIFE]: The battery life is shorter than others Iâve used. You should always disinfect the unit before and after use, and you need to be careful what you use on it. I disinfect mine with HOCL spray before and after each use. Itâs not only safe to use on this equipment, but itâs gentle, eye-safe, and antimicrobial (even used for stye care), so it really works well all around.âââ[FINAL THOUGHTS]: Whether used with contacts in or without, it does a great job of cleaning and refreshing your eyes, and the heat setting is deeply soothing on strained or irritated eyes. I use it anytime Iâve scratched my eye, and I honestly never want to be without one again.
