It does work. Which was almost a surprise to me, as it is the only option for at home electrolysis and under $40. The other options are machines that are spa/professional and cost thousands. So huge gap in price.Yes, it hurts but I had professional electrolysis on my legs when in my late teens so expected it and for me is worth what I know the payoff to be – you will never see that hair again. So, regular bi-weekly/monthly pain at letâs say 3-4 for waxing/epilator/laser vs one time pain at 7 and never again. Also, electrolysis IS the only fda approved method for permanent hair removal for all hair/skin types and combos, which laser is Not. Electrolysis doesnât care whatâs the color of your skin and hair, it simply kills the root. You can get regrowth only if the root is not sufficiently damaged so do it right/long enough the first time to avoid having to do it again. All other hair is not regrowth, itâs just different hairs that grow in different cycles so you will have to do those when they come up. Read up on hair biology and cycles, know what to expect.Must follow instructions, regularly dampen your fingers and endure the pain long enough to kill the root. I put a shallow bowl of water and salt near, dip my fingers and then briefly touch on a paper towel. A BRIGHTLY LIGHTED magnifying glass or mirror (depending on if you are doing body or face) is a must. You need to see what you are doing. Insertion of the tip doesnât hurt, itâs way thinner than a needle; the electric current that activates automatically when inserted hurts. My pain tolerance is relatively high so I personally prefer higher intensity on the dial for shorter time, so for me most hairs will be âcookedâ in 5-10 seconds vs the lower intensity for 15+ seconds. Still, each hair is different and some have stronger roots than others and can take longer. The hair root is âcookedâ only when you can easily slide out the hair. Not pull, pluck, etc., just slide out gently without resistance. Their tweezers suck btw, use your own.To note: during operation, there is a tiny bead of milky liquid that can form at the insertion point. Thatâs perfectly normal, gently wipe it off the tip before doing the next hair.Cons: the loud buzzer sound it makes, I wish I could turn it off.Improvements would be: buzzer off option, button activation vs automatic, better cable management and better materials and case overall, shorter âpenâ (sometimes you need to get closer to see and the pen is in the way), plug in option (as is, it uses 1 9V battery which is Not included). I would gladly pay double for a product with those features.Still, 5 stars because it does work and the only alternatives are in the thousands of dollars.Wouldnât recommend for those that want to do areas that are difficult to get close to either with a mirror or magnifying glass – you need to see clearly where you are inserting the tip to be effective.

I want and absolute, immediate full refind!It arrived opened in a resealed plastic bag thrown in a box. It has been used! Absolutely disgusting and unusable. This is a product that enters the skin pours. It is absolutely disgusting to send me a used one. Please immediately send a bio hazard box with prepaid postage so I can send it back. Also I demand a full refund.

Works okay, then stops.
I have such a love-hate relationship with this product. The good: it’s cheap and once you zap a hair it doesn’t grow back.Now the bad: my main complaint is it just kind of stopped working. It worked reliably at first. Then it started cutting out sporadically, and working on-again off-again. Now it just seems like it’s toast. No amount of wiggling or messing around seems to help anymore.The other main complaints are that it is tedious and slow and pretty uncomfortable. There are some other annoyances such as: the included tweezers are useless, the tip is super hard to disassemble if you need to replace the electrode, and if the electrode isn’t perfectly straight it’s nearly impossible to get it back into the tiny tip. I could live with that, though. Because it works well enough that I WANT to keep using it. But, I guess I burned it out or something. I just feel like if they put a little more thought or labor into it so that the design wasn’t as cumbersome, and more importantly, the thing didn’t just randomly quit after a couple of months, it would be a five star product. Now it’s just kinda “meh”.

Works but must be used with a lot of caution!
So I got this to mostly to remove a uni-brow that’s been bugging me for years. The good news is that it works, however you have to be extremely cautious specially around the face. One possible side effect of electrolysis is pitting of the skin (where it creates little craters that look like acne scars). I started with the 4 darkest hairs in my uni-brow and they all caused damage to the skin. Lucky because they were far enough from each other, my skin healed and closed the mini pits. I was freaking out for a few weeks though because they were very noticeable till they healed. With that said I’m having to wait a few months for it to completely heal before I go back for the rest so I don’t risk pitting.Now the reason I think I damaged my skin is because of the product design. With this device you don’t place the needle in, and then zap; it starts working as soon as it makes contact with the hair follicle. Meaning the product is always on. Because the needle is so thin, and you have to slide it in with the hair, it can be very hard to get the right angle. This is specially true if you’re using a mirror or happen to have shaky hands at the time. The pen also has to be held a certain way to work which only makes it more difficult. I can imagine treating say leg hairs or even a bikini area as being far easier, but since the device’s needle must go in with the hair, you got to be able to see it and this might mean getting magnifying glass stand.In all, if you have hair where you can’t reach or even very dense hair areas, this is likely not a good choice of product. At the end of the day to make it work you’ll need a lot of visibility, patience, and time. If you have that, then you can make this work.

While I appreciate the care taken in packing the shipment, I was shocked to find the following issues upon opening the outer packaging:The product box was not sealed as new; it appeared opened.The box looked very old, almost as if it had been used before.Stickers on the box were covered by other empty stickers, giving the impression that the item was resold.Regarding the device itself, I cannot confirm if it is functioning properly at this time, as the needle seems almost gone.
