Excellent upgrade!
I’ve been doing my own gel nails for about 14 years and went through 3 or 4 smaller electric nail file (those pink pearly ones). Each newer one was weaker than the last, even though they stated they were better. When I saw this, I figured I’d give it a shot. And boy, am I glad I did!! This is the first one that doesn’t “stutter” while taking off the old gel. Actually, I almost had the opposite problem, I thought this was too powerful at first. I guess after those weak flimsy ones, this was definitely way more powerful!It is a little heavier than my older ones, but it didn’t take too long to get used to the weight, and by the time I was doing my other hand, it no longer felt heavy. After using it a few times now, it’s definitely not as heavy as it felt at first, and I absolutely love it’s power!So far, I have only used it on the lowest level – 1 out of 35. This would be powerful enough to use at a nail salon. In fact, if you are a beginner, I would not advise starting with this unit, just like you shouldn’t start driving a corvette with a brand-new license.I do have to get used to not to just pull out the bits, like I had to from the others. This is more like an actual drill, you twist one way it unlocks, replace the bit, then twist the other way to tighten or lock it.I also appreciate that the forward and back switch is clearly labeled and is visible, as it is on the top of the unit, so you don’t have to look for it on the wire and think about which way you have to toggle it to go the way you want to.The base has a few places to store your bits, although it would be nice to have some extra, because I use more than just the one it comes with. Fortunately, the file itself fits all my other bits that I used with my old ones.The base also has a spot to put your “drill” when you’re not using it.The set also comes with a belt clip, which I doubt I ever use, but I suppose someone might find it handy, in case you have to run out for a nail emergency.I would say the price is very reasonable as well. You get a lot of torque out of your money…LOLI am already very pleased with it, even though I’ve only used it a few times. I will definitely not go back to those other ones.

Overall, this is a very nice e-file – the noise is reasonable, it feels great in hand and solidly built, and comes with a number of attachments right out of the box, including a cone attachment that I had to pay for separately with my last e-file. It handles removing my gel overlays, shaping natural nails, and shaping extensions without any issue. All in all, it works well, and I find that the location of the controls on the battery pack is a little easier to deal with than on my other e-file, where they are on the cord. It’s definitely an upgrade, and I think for the current price of $60, it’s fairly priced.That said, it wasn’t intuitive to change the bits out, especially with the dummy bit in that comes pre installed. Based on the product title and description, I also expected a drill that was completely cordless – although there are one or two pictures that hint at a cord connecting the handset and the drill, they are easy to miss and there were no clear photos that showed that the drill requires a cord between the handset and the drill. I didn’t know this kind of e-file existed, so when I saw cordless, I thought that meant there were no cords at all attached to the drill, and the charging station just had a large area for tool storage. This is important because I was hoping to try filing my extremely finicky dog’s nails with this, and the fewer cords for her legs to get tangled in, the better. In this respect, I think the telephone cord style of some of the other nail drills of this type out there works much better – this cord is just loose and in the way, and there isn’t a great place to store it even when it’s charging. If I was a nail tech having this clipped to my belt, or trying to trim my dog’s nails with this, the cord would definitely be annoying.Long story short, I think it’s accurate to call this portable, but definitely not cordless. I would also reconsider the cord design for better portability.

Elle permet un ponçage de qualité et après une période d’essai pour la prise en main, elle est rapide, efficace et portable. L’unité de charge ou la partie principale de cette lime possède un écran LCD qui indique le nombre de tour minute. La base est en fait une station de charge, qui sert également pour ranger les embouts. Avec sa couleur rose, cette lime à ongles fait très “girly”. On apprécie beaucoup que la notice soit en français. C’est une bonne machine que ma petite-fille a adoptée.
