I was greatly surprised by this inexpensive but effective infrared thermometer. It is the typical touchless thermometer we have been using during the pandemic in some places.The shape is better than the typical gun as it is smaller and fits well in the medical drawer or shelf of your home. It works very well to measure surfaces and room temperature. To measure the body, I had to read the instructions. You have to measure in your clean forehead, at 1-1.5 inches from the skin.You can configure the unit, Celsius or Fahrenheit, and the bell, on or off. You have 32 memories with the latest readings and the LED screen is green after a normal body reading, orange if you have over the normal temperature, and red if you have fever.It requires 2 AAA batteries not included, so be sure you have a couple at home if you purchase it.I feel quite satisfied with this purchase.

The forehead scan temperature gun seems to work very well on humans. It even correctly measured my own weirdly low body temperature accurately. However, I purchased this item specifically because the question and answer feature said that it also works to measure the body temperature of pets. The image even included a picture of a dog. It does not. I tried all areas on the dog’s and cat’s bodies where there was no or little fur. Bellies, inside the ear, even inside the dog’s mouth. A dog’s normal body temperature is 101.5°F. The device repeatedly read 98.3 – 98.5°. Oh well. It’s nice to have for the humans, so I’ll keep it. Back to upsetting the critters with taking their temps the old-fashioned way.Edit 28 June 2025: this company (Berrcom Medical Device) has very nice customer service. They reached out with an offer to refund the purchase price, though I declined, since the thermometer seems to work fine for the human family members. Raising this rating from three to four stars to thank them for their kindness.

A really easy product to use and does appear to be repeatably accurate if taking several readings.We now take our temperature each morning for peace of mind during this pandemic. Readings are simple to take and the result is quickly displayed. Any fever is highlighted by an audible alert.Much better than using contact strips or oral thermometers. Well recommended.

I had this thermometer 2 years ago, but gave it away, then bought more expensive Braun and that one really disappointed me. So eventually I tried to remember the old model, and found it. I almost returned it the first day as three measurements differed as match as 1C, but decided to give it time. The next day the thermometer was just fine, as good as my first one.
