I absolutely love this Silk’n hair removal device and at its current high price I ask myself, can the price be justified? Short answer is yes, here’s why……1-Compare it to going for laser hair removal therapy/sessions that could cost hundreds to even thousands of dollars. If you follow the regimen that is suggested within this Silk’n hair removal kit, its essentially the same as going to laser sessions but at least this Silk’n kit allows you to do it in the privacy of your own home at your own leisure.2-Another good reason to justify price is that at least regrowth of hairs are much slower if not some appear not to have grown back vs razors where hairs appear days later. ( everyone is unique and will have different results).So far, 2 week use shows barely any regrowth. Some hairs did grow back but definitely at a slower more manageable pace.Shipped fast. Professionally packaged. Removal device is nestled inside a nicely design carry/storage case. Included is the very detailed instruction booklet ( mostly different languages).The device itself is larger than most but pretty much intuitive. The simple button under side of the head allows this hair removal device to give different angles for those hard to reach areas ( see my photos of different angles).Best results are achieved by following the regimen ( average 6 sessions). The one weird thing about it is it gives a warning that it can cause hair to grow back thicker, especially for southeast Asian people, which is completely nonsense and unscientific.As for performance, the experience is surprisingly comfortable. There’s a little zap sensation with each flash—think of a quick snap or mild heat—but it’s not painful, even on the lower settings. The first couple of sessions didn’t show major results (which is expected with IPL), but hair seems to be growing back slower already, and I’m hopeful for continued improvement with consistent use.What stands out most is how easy it is to incorporate into a weekly routine. I ain’t going to lie. I was nervous to try this light based hair removal gun. The instruction book is extentive – there is no quick guide and that’s probably because of safety concerns. But the actual device is pretty intuative and everything makes sense once you start to use it. I am sensitive to pain. I’m sensitive to just the idea of pain. So I was pleasantly surprised that the low settings of this device are completely bareable and I’m confident that I will be able to ratchet the power up if the lowest two settings don’t provide satisfactory results. The unit makes a cracking sound that is more bark than bite but it is startling until you get used to it. The unit come in a sleek zippered storage box and is hefty in a way that indicates a quality product. Beyond my own hairy areas that I’m trying to denude, my husband wants me to do the back of his neck so his hair cuts look neater and more defined for a longer period of time. It’s too soon to tell exactly how effective this hair removal is going to be as it requires repeated applications to eliminate the majority of the hair. But the process is doable and relatively comfortable. It’s an interesting product and I’m hopeful that I see good results!
