Comparable to Aveda Clove
I like this brand of hair color conditioner. I compare my experience to my long-time use of Aveda Clove — they discontinued Aveda Clove and I was quite sad about that as it was my ‘go-to’ for those times I wanted to add a boost of color to my not-dyed (natural-color) hair. However, I did a lot of research and gave a lot of thought and read a lot of reviews before I picked dpHue, as I wanted something close to Aveda Clove, or even better. In some ways this is better than Aveda Clove in that it puts much more shine and body to my hair.My hair looks gorgeous the day of, so I like to use it if I am going out or have something special to do.I have medium-dark brown hair with some grey sprinkled throughout. This hair conditioner adds a deeper tone to my hair and gives it beautiful body and bounce and shine. It tones down my greys so they aren’t as noticeable but of course doesn’t cover them completely – but I have a lot more dark hair than grey so that helps.Also a positive is it does not turn my hair reddish – that’s why I picked the cool instead of the warm. The color actually beats out Aveda Clove in that Clove sometimes could look a little reddish or a little too dark.I only left this on so far anywhere between 3 minutes and 5 minutes. I used a cap while in the shower so I didn’t accidentally rinse it away. I am going to try leaving it in longer to see how my results are now that I know it doesn’t cause damage or make my hair too dark.I wish it lasted longer but I can’t remember if Clove lasted longer than this brand or not. It’ll last through maybe 4 shampoos, maybe. The shine and bounce really only last the first two shampoos while the color gradually but quickly fades over the next few days. But it is gentle enough to use frequently if you choose to do that. I use it maybe once a week or every 2 weeks. And, perhaps leaving it in longer will give me longer results.I will order again. And in fact, I really want to try the clear dpHue to see how it works in my hair.It’s a little pricey but you often have just what you pay for so I don’t mind paying more for quality.

Life changing
Love this product. Iâve tried other glosses. And this one is the best quality. Itâs more expensive, but worth the cost. The color is rich and beautiful. I have very course semi curly thick hair. So I struggle finding products that will soften my strands and also enhance my crazy greys. My hair is probably 45% gray. It says it doesnât recommend for gray, but if you color, this product is good for tinting the gray. I personally love the result. I use color that isnât too heavy on chemicals. So my grays just tint. It looks like highlights. So this product removes brassiness, makes my hair ultra soft, and adds rich color. Itâs easy to apply, and rinse out. Just use gloves. I have waist length hair, and a bottle gives me about 3 touch ups. Great to use in between color.

Doesn’t color. Ok for shine and softness only. You can get othe products which give color and shine for less money.

Let me start by saying that this will not cover your gray hair. No semi permanent dye that only sits on your hair for a few minutes can do that. I have tried them all. But it does tone my hair beautifully and leaves it looking shiny and moisturized. I have been really impressed with all of the DP hue products I have tried for toning. My brown hair can sometimes turn orangey. I color my hair with a mixture of henna, indigo, and Amla to cover the grays, but yellow and orange tones come in strong sometimes. Itâs hard to keep your hair toned exactly right all the time when coloring or going in the sun. This is a great quick fix that works better than blue tone shampoos.I would say you get exactly what it says: cool medium brown. If youâve got an ash brown color, this is one of the only brown toning conditioners I have ever found that actually adds cool tones. So many brands I have tried add too many warm tones.Iâm only giving it four instead of five because it doesnât condition my hair quite enough on its own. I have lots of fine wavy hair and I have to condition afterward with a thicker conditioner to get my hair properly moisturized.

Works great!
Love this product. Iâve used about half the bottle so far, 3 different applications. My hair was red/orange in some spots and looking uneven. I tried blue shampoo, purple, and everything in between. I bought this in a cool medium brown and itâs been a lifesaver. I have cut back on my salon time by using this in-between. It does leave my hair a little dryer, I used a deep conditioning mask right after rinsing out and it balances it out perfect. Highly recommend for those needing a touch up or covering up unwanted colors.

Great to try on a new color
This product was great to try a color on before getting it permanently done. The only complaint I have is that it didn’t last the 8 washes. It washed out after one wash.

Takes out brass tones
Purchases cool medium brunette.I am a low maintenance hair type of girl with 3 young kids so itâs really hard getting to a salon..This product was just what I was looking for.. a shine boost of my natural color and to cover up grays (fyi my grays are minimal and around my face-this product covered them perfectly, I left it in for 20mins).I also feel like it blended my hair better and got rid of the brassy tones from old highlights.PS: the before pic is my hair brushed out with no product and not blow dried. I would use this again and I love that the bottle has multiple uses. Also rinsed out easily and did not stain my shower after.

This product exceeded my expectations! I am blown away by the results! For reference, I am a brunette with some greys that have been really making their presence known lately. I havenât coloured my hair in over a decade and really didnât want to have to resort to colouring over my greys. I donât mind the greys, but was hoping to tone them down a little – which is exactly what this product did! While it doesnât claim to cover greys, it definitely worked for me. Some were covered completely while others now have more of a blonde shimmer. It gave my hair an all over shine and richness that you would expect from a professional colour treatment. This is my new go to product!Some tips:If youâre a brunette wear gloves!If attempting to cover greys apply a few coats of the product (I like to use a hair colouring brush)I left it on for 20 minutes

This didn’t do a thing in terms of colour. I followed instructions but doubled the setting time to make sure the colour would deposit. Absolutely no colour did.Not only that but the pump wouldn’t unlock but instead broke. You’re better off going to the salon and paying an extra $30 to tone your hair rather than spend money on this product.

I purchased the cool brown to test if I was ready to transition back to a brunette. This is an excellent product.Things I liked.- It’s temporary. Fades nicely.- Doesn’t leave a harsh line.- Accurate color – not warm, very cool.- Toned my grey’s.Things I disliked.- The portion size is way too small for the price.- Pour spout.

Itâs okay but definitely not worth $48, especially considering the size of the bottle. The colour deposit is good when first applied however, it doesnât last long regardless of how long you leave it on. I left it for 20 minutes but it didnât last more than 2 washes. Also, it did not provide any shine and didnât leave my hair feeling any softer.
