ð Has It’s Limitations – Small enough packs well – Not Very Reliable
Model # YK-BPA1 Version V1.0.The idea of portability is a great concept and this unit coming in at 5″ long and 3″ wide provides the flexibility of taking the unit on travel or if needed on daily outings if necessary. Unlike other BP machines this one has the monitor attached to the sleeve. The sleeve has its limitations. It does not appear that it would fit on bigger arms, there is not much slack when applying it on the arm.Taking a reading is simple but reading it is another story. Since the monitor is connected to the sleeve and only 1 person present the unit would have to be removed in order to see the reading. The process of course if much easier with a second person.The unit is capable of saving readings separately for 2 different people. It appears as #1 and # 2The machine will not operate on a low battery and cannot be used while it is charging. It takes about2 hours for the unit to fully charge via the charging cable provided.The directional booklet at times is a bit difficult to follow. Setting the time and date was fairly simpleand recalling past readings was also through the memory button on the front of the unit.There is a iOS application available to store the readings for download, I will insert a picture of it for reference. I personally have not downloaded it as the unit is suppose to remember the readings.It has an auto off feature that will shut down the unit after 2 minutes of standby automatically to conserve battery life.The display is digital and clear, however we found the readings when taken at the same time toa well calibrated machine we have had for a few years to be completely different. I do howeverappreciate that they did include the proper way and position to get an ideal accurate reading, asin my experience allot of physicians and even hospitals have the tendency to take blood pressure while having the patient talk, over thick clothing, with feet dangling in the air and the arm not laying flatat the level of ones heart.Overall the machine is a good concept especially for those who need to take multiple BP readingsso they are not tied to the house, but unfortunately it has a few disadvantages that could not be ignored.
