Good Combo
This blood pressure monitor from Japanese brand A&D Medical seems like a good combination device allowing either standalone use or Bluetooth connection with their app.The UA-770 device is easy to use and read, though there seem to be a few other A&D models that boast a larger screen and bigger numbers for another $10 or $20. The included zipper case isn’t particularly fancy, but the case is functional and much, much appreciated.Standalone setup is simple: install the included batteries (don’t let their plastic wrapper raise your blood pressure too much), plug in the cuff, get in the right position, slide on the cuff, and then press the big Start/Stop button. The reading is quick and clear.If you use the app, you’ll need to register with an email address and create a password, but it doesn’t ask for other personal information unless you’re linking it with a medical provider. Bluetooth pairing was relatively normal.Note that the app doesn’t seem to control the device: you need to press the Start button to trigger each measurement. On iOS, the app has an idiosyncrasy that it won’t share blood pressure data to Health unless it is also allowed to write weight data.If you’re certain that don’t need Bluetooth/app connectivity, then consider an alternative like the Vaunn Medical B100A which is more compact and has a much bigger display than the UA-770, though it doesn’t include a storage case.Overall, this seems like a well made device and having the option of app connectivity makes it seem like a very good choice.

Great Blood Pressure & Heart Rate Monitor
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Every household should have readily access to a blood pressure monitor. I am quite pleased with this one and it is affordable and a good one to consider. The pressure readings are comparative accurate as well as the heart rates which I am very much concerned with right now. The provided instructions are fairly easy to follow as far as device operation. The display is clear and easy to read. Be sure to push the set button to select user before turning on to take measurement. I like this monitor and recommend it for both value and practical use as stated.

Nearly flawless measurements
Whatâs in Box:1 upper arm blood pressure monitor, that allows for as many as four users and up to 60 readings per person1 wide-range blood pressure cuff, and if this cuff runs too small or too large, there are alternative cuffs to order, as noted in listing.1 instruction manual, 1 quick start guide, each offering rather simple sentence structures so a user doesnât get lost in highly complex prompts or vocabulary1 carrying case, and 4 AA batteries for portability. Note! This relies on battery power. No cord!What is the user experience like?I found this to work rather straightforward. Until my husband and I got used to using this particular device, we relied on instructions in booklet and, eventually, just the quick start guide to use properly.While this relies on battery power only, there is a major advantage to this feature:No need to use this near an outlet which can hamper the way you use it. Others with cords make cords that are too short, and don’t reach the table where you plan to measure. Also this makes use anywhere quite possible bc you need not have an outlet at all.We did get a couple cuff alerts when we began using this. While annoying we know that this is not a drawback, but just a minor inconvenience to get a truly accurate read. This helped us figure out how to adjust the cuff, esp when reviewing the illustrated directions for proper placement and fit.We have not yet used the app. With only two of us in our household, we find the storage of 60 readings per person ample. We are looking forward to seeing how this may work out when we enable the help of our health care clinic providers, who are willing to assist us with this task.The cuff does get snug but this is not a flaw. It is what it is for, and that is to measure pressure, after all.Summary:An effective pressure monitor that is well above the average device, with clarity in instructions, and portability in its powering. Quite satisfying to use!

A reasonably good BP monitor…
While this BP monitor has many features, it seems it only works with its own app. Since I do not put much faith in the security and longevity of 3rd party apps, I ordered this for use just as a normal–use BP monitor. While it seems to work reasonably well, I occasionally verify the numbers with another monitor. I would rather have seen a device that integrates with mainstream health apps and provides other novel features such as irregular heartbeat detection.I am rating it three stars as it seems to do the expected basic job. It may rate four if you trust third party apps on your devices. As always, your mileage and preferences may vary…

i am not sure why i cannot download the A&D App from apple store… and thus the wireless connection feature is not applicable to me……
