good option for our three chubby dogs
All my little rump roasts are on this. I have 2 large yellow labs and a “small” mega mutt. George is 7 years old English lab, Grace is 1 year old American lab, and my mega mutt Mindy is 2 years old. She should be around 40 lbs but is over 50. She came to us as an emaciated rescue and has somehow more than made up for it. So it is the latter who I originally bought this for. She gets strictly this now. For the most part.When my big boy had gained some weight I cut back on his usual food (we use the Pro Plan sensitive stomach formula). I had been unknowingly overfeeding him and he had also reduced his activity level. So between the 2 things, he packed on a few extra lbs. I didnt plan to add this to his food, but one day he helped himself to it. Seeing that his belly tolerated it well, I started adding this to his usual kibble while subtracting a little of his regular kibble. He does well with it, and he is down a few pounds.Then our young Grace is not quite out of the “puppy food” phase of her life, but she is now spayed and I can see her filling out. She is at a good weight and body condition, but ourVet said it would be fine to use this food with her. I will do as I do with my big boy and use this as part of her food (half this, half puppy).Between the 3 I go through a lot of this food. I had been buying the 18 lb bag, but now am going up a size to 34.Good stuff, fresh, looks good, smells good, all dogs tolerate it.

I have a doxie mix that could tend to gain weight. Asked his vet about this dog food and she said it is great food. My3 year old enjoys this food very much. So does his playmate she heads straight for my dogs bowl. Never have had any problems with digestion. My dog is 27 pounds the dog food is just the right size for him to chew. I have checked the ingredients and they all look to be very healthy.

Great weight management food for your dog
pro plan makes an excellent weight management dog food. This will not let you down. Easily digestible and dogs seem to be very happy and healthy eating this food. Iâve been using it for years and will continue to do so.

Poops were a bit TOO firm
My pup seemed to really like this food and it was recommended by my vet. It was working well for her sensitive digestion but we ended up having to swap from it because it ended up making her poop a bit TOO hard and black once she settled into it. Not tarry!! I want to emphasize that it didn’t make her sick! Just hard and very dark poops. It just seemed to be too much fiber (and suchlike that’s added for sturdier poops) for her in particular and she would have to strain a bit too much so vet recommended something else.So I wanted to leave that info for anyone who may have a dog who they already know is sensitive to that.I wouldn’t have any qualms about trying another Purina Pro Plan recipe since she was doing well on it otherwise, but we’re currently on a different food for some other stomach issues she’s had and will likely stick to that as long as it’s working for her.

Stella (cocker) was a 9/10 at the vet …this is not a compliment lol. We started her on this about 3 weeks ago, she loves it, and we have seen a drop in her weight already. Priced competitive and, apparently, tastes good lol

My dog has been eating this kibble since we adopted her, per our vet’s recommendation. She’s lost seven pounds and is now at her target weight. She also *loves* it, and can still crunch it despite having very few teeth left. Recommended!

Vet told us 2 years ago that we needed to put doggo on a restricted (weight management) diet and ProPlan was one of the ones she suggested. Haven’t looked back, he lost 8 pounds and we’ve been able to see his shape ever since the switch. And the dog loves this food (he’s very picky).
