I’ve used Braun IPL in the past and I was surprised that this Ulike device actually has a feature that my Braun device does not have and that’s the cooling effect. To be fair, it’s not really ice-cooling as it’s advertised, it’s more like icy-hot feeling. However that feeling whether you call it Ice-Cooling or Ice-hot feeling, is great. It reduces the pain when using the IPL device which is the main thing that discouraged me from using my Braun device regularly. I find myself using this Ulike more often and I see promising results so far.

Takes time, but works well
I was pretty nervous to try using this product for laser hair removal. I’ve never used one of these at home or gone in for laser hair removal from a professional, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I really like this product!The kit includes everything you need, including protective eyeglasses and a carrying/storage bag. The instructions were clear and the product was easy to use. I was scared it was going to be painful, but the cooling sensation is real and it does make it painless!If you’re looking for instant results, this is not for you. You have to commit to using this consistently for quite a while before you actually start seeing results. I assume it is probably the same with any laser hair removal though.Having something like this to use at home will definitely save you money in the long run. I definitely recommend giving this a try if you’re a candidate for laser hair removal!

Part OneBecause the hair removal process will take a month or so, I’m going to write this review in two parts. In this first part, I’m going to cover the removal tool itself, the instructions and my initial experiences of it in action. I will then follow this up with part two in in around 6 weeks, to let you know how I got on over that time.Even before I got to the hand unit, my first impressions were extremely positive. It comes in a beautifully designed box with embossed logos. As well as the handset itself the box contained a fast start sheet as well as detailed instructions, a storage bag, dark safety glasses and even a wet razor to use before starting the treatment.The instructions are very clearly written and include coloured illustrations of skin type and so on. Although there is a quick start guide, I read through the detailed instructions as well, to make sure I wasn’t missing anything important. After that I followed the recommendation to do a test first and then wait a couple of hours before trying a full treatment.The most remarkable thing for me so far is that I haven’t had any sensation of heat at all, either during the test or later when I tried the unit properly for the first time. Quite the opposite in fact, and I am really amazed how well the “ice cooling” system works. The glass panel, that the treatment light shines through, quickly becomes freezing cold when the device is switched on. It is not at all uncomfortable, but it does feel rather like sliding a dry ice cube on your skin.I must admit to being a little apprehensive that treatments themselves might be painful. Having just finished the first one, I’m pleased to say that it wasn’t even uncomfortable and certainly not the least bit painful – definitely a five star experience!So I’m going to continue with the treatments every couple of days as suggested and I’ll report back on the results in due course……..

Como ciclista habitual, llevo muchos años depilándome las piernas en temporada de primavera-verano-otoño. Alguna vez recurrí a la cera, algunas veces más a máquinas de las que arrancan pelo, y con la mayor frecuencia, a la cuchilla de toda la vida.Con los años, tengo algunas zonas de las piernas casi sin pelo (zona de calcetines y parte superior de los cuádriceps), y otras (particularmente la parte trasera del muslo), con un pelo de crecimiento vigoroso que ya lo querría en la cabeza. Un rollo para mantener unas piernas de ciclista sin pelos rebeldes que siempre asoman a través incluso del culotte.Recurrir a sesiones de láser me da una pereza infinita, así que la opción que me proporcionaba Amazon, a través de Vine, me vino al pelo (literalmente)Con sólo una sesión, he apreciado una clara disminución del número de pelos que vuelven a salir (porque vuelven a salir después de una sola sesión). Ya sólo con eso, me merece la pena, ya que la reducción del número de pelos es notable. Antes, tenía que andar repasando piernas a los dos días. Ahora llevo cinco y aún no noto que tenga que repasar con maquinilla, así que muy bien. Muy efectivo.El funcionamiento de la máquina es sencillo. Conviene leerse las instrucciones y seguir los consejos de utilización, haciendo una prueba inicial de sensibilidad. Yo no tuve ningún tipo de reacción, ni dolor alguno. Solo algo de calor local en algunas zonas puntuales. La máquina se autorregula (tú eliges el nivel de intensidad, desde suave a alto. No he utilizado el ultra alto, que recomiendan para vello más grueso, tipo axilas o zona púbica) Tan sólo noté un pequeño enrojecimiento en las zonas más blancas de los muslos (soy bastante blanco de piel) que desapareció en menos de quince minutos, aunque me apliqué un gel de Aloe Vera para refrescar tras la sesión, que me proporcioné yo mismo. No hay que ser contorsionista para llegar a todos lados, pero sí tener cierto orden para evitar darte cuatro flashazos en el mismo sitio, y ninguno en el de al lado.Según he estudiado, no se recomienda abusar de las sesiones en épocas de exposición solar intensa, para evitar la aparición de manchas, y preferiblemente la piel no debe estar demasiado morena cuando te apliques el IPL, con lo que en verano me abstendré de hacer nuevas sesiones. Para otoño e invierno, volveré a dar sesión de recuerdo, que aprovecharé, DM, la próxima temporada de culotes cortos…Según parece, para lograr efectos si no permanentes, sí casi permanentes, se suelen precisar unas cinco sesiones. Los folículos pilosos que desaparecen, lo hacen para siempre, pero siempre (salvo en la cabeza de los hombres; unos más que otros) reaparecen algunos alrededor que se vuelven a activar. Por ello, es preciso ser consciente de que una sola sesión no nos volverá lampiños, pero sí dejaremos de pincharnos a nosotros mismos a la primera noche tras la depilación. Yupi.

Ob sich so ein teures Gerät lohnt, hängt von den Gegebenheiten ab, es macht eigentlich nur Sinn, wenn der Kontrast zwischen Haut- und Haarfarbe groß genug ist (vor dem Kauf anhand einer Tabelle checken!) und wenn der eigene Haarwuchs stärker ausgeprägt ist. Ich habe nur eine sehr leichte und dünne Behaarung, an den Beinen quasi gar keine, nur Achselhaare und die in der Bikinizone wachsen relativ schnell nach. Normalerweise nutze ich dafür ca. 2 x in der Woche einen einfachen Elektrorasierer. Der Aufwand einer Nassrasur lohnt nicht, und ich mag in diesen empfindlichen Bereich auch nicht mit Klingen hantieren. So dachte ich mir, die Laserentfernung wäre vielleicht eine Alternative, um die nervige Stoppelei umgehen zu können. Als ich jedoch das Anleitungsheft las, war mir schnell klar, dass das keineswegs mit einer Behandlung alle paar Wochen erledigt ist, so wie ich mir das bisher vorgestellt hatte, sondern dass es einer regelmäßigen über ein paar Wochen bedarf, bis dann wohl für einige Zeit nichts mehr wächst oder zumindest deutlich weniger, denn die Energieleistung eines Geräts für den Hausgebrauch schafft es meinen Informationen nach wohl nicht, das Wachstum völlig auszubremsen, wie es eine professionelle Behandlung bietet. Also nicht zack und weg, man muss schon dranbleiben, wenn auch deutlich seltener als bei der Rasur.Das Unternehmen Ulike kannte ich bisher nicht, es handelt sich aber um einen der führenden Anbieter von Heimkosmetikgeräten, der bereits seit gut 10 Jahren auf dem Markt ist. Dass man hier Qualität erwirbt, zeigt sich schon an der sehr hochwertigen Verpackung, die auf mich wirkt, als hätte ich ein Apple-Gerät erworben. Auch der Support muss sehr gut sein, habe ich von anderen Anwendern mitbekommen.Ob sich der Air 10 IPL aber nun in Sachen Wirkung von deutlich günstigeren Marken abhebt, die sich bereits im Preissegment von 60 – 120 Euro befinden, kann ich natürlich nicht sagen. Die Rezensionen sind allerdings erstaunlich positiv.Derzeit gibt es hier bei Amazon einen 100 Euro Rabattgutschein und auch so manche Influencer bieten Codes, die bis 130 Euro Rabatt bieten. Das macht die ganze Sache natürlich schon deutlich günstiger, darauf sollte man vor dem Kauf unbedingt achten!Die Anwendung ist Dank des Kühlungssystems schmerzfrei, man sollte sich also mutig ans Werk machen und sehr sorgfältig Bereich für Bereich bearbeiten, damit man auch alles erwischt. Das dauert seine Weile, ich denke, dass sich dieser Aufwand für mich nicht wirklich lohnt, dass aber Menschen mit stärkerem Haarwuchs auf jeden Fall davon profitieren können, besonders auch dann, wenn man im Alltag immer wieder mit irritierter Haut durch neue Stoppeln kämpft.
